Lovely warm welcome from Hannah, and after completing another leg of St Cuthbert's Way a really welcome pot of tea and biccies on arrival. Hannah is full of useful information about the history of the building as a Women's Land Army site and has maps of the town and all you need to know generally. The spacious kitchen and outside deck area gratefully utilised after a trip to the Coop just 5 minutes down the road to get our 3 course dinner and help yourself tea and coffee much appreciated. Very homey feel everywhere with cosy nooks to sit in rather than just one social area. No hesitation to thoroughly recommend a stay here, ditch the B & B and head to Wooler Hostel! Thank you and wishing you great success with all your various projects.

A lovely comfortable independent hostel. Attractive decor with fairy lights, comfy chairs, and a "VE day" 1940s vibe in the lounge and murals in the corridors. Very friendly hosts, excellent self-catering kitchen (with tea/coffee), good showers etc., and several comfy "break-out" spaces. It was built in the 1940s for the land army and all the rooms are named after the women who stayed here with information boards about the history. I definitely plan to come here again.

9 of us stayed here 21/6/25 on a bike riding weekend. |First up, location excellent for many outdoor pursuits country or coast. Cheviots are idyllic and still very quiet in terms of visitor numbers. Also for Wooler town centre it’s a 2 min walk down the hill.|Our welcome could t have been warmers. All of us were seriously knackered and dehydrated, the wonderful host Tim immediately brewed up some pots of tea and biscuits and served them up FOC… you don’t get this in many places. Friendly chat and seamless check in, even throwing in towels for free which are normally a few quid.|Rooms and facilities all spot on. Interesting history to the place with the women’s land army based here during WW2 and all of the history displayed around the building.|Breakfast for £10 was 10/10. Lovely produce, plentiful on every levels and served hot|To full group together …oh and great coffee. We will be back.

Wooler hostel is in a perfect location to explore the Northumberland hills and coasts and I received a terrific welcome from Hannah and Tim. I arrived by cycle was immediately made welcome and offered tea and biscuits even before I had a chance to shower. The hostel had everything I needed and everything was in good condition. The breakfasts were delicious, made to order with fresh ingredients, and even came with an option of hen or duck egg. |I was made to feel extremely welcome and would love to return soon. Thank you!

A great place to stay in a village which offers so much to the hosteller…Co-op open every day, early til late, pubs, fish and chips. The roads in Northumberland are so quiet and, the few drivers there are very considerate and aware of cyclists.||After arriving after a long cycle, I was made a pot of tea with biscuits - perfect stuff to revive me! A perfect welcome.||Fresh duck eggs and milk were on offer in the kitchen.||The hostel is clean, warm, spacious and has a friendly atmosphere. Last Spring, I stayed for one night en route from the Newcastle ferry back to Edinburgh and vowed to go back. I’m glad I did and, I’ll do the same again! Thank you 😊

The general experience was fantastic. Hannah and Tim were lovely, the space was cosy, and the general atmosphere was peaceful and homely. We had booked an inclusive breakfast, which was one of the best we had on St Cuthbert's way. Would recommend!

We had a fantastic stay here after walking the third leg of St Cuthbert's Way. The hosts were super friendly, greeting us with a cup of tea on arrival and doing everything they could to make us feel comfortable. The rooms are well equipped and lots of nice areas for downtime.

We stayed in the Cheviot shepherds hut on our third night backpacking St Cuthbert's Way. After about 45 miles and two nights in a tent, it was like a palace, with everything we needed!! We received such a wonderfully friendly welcome, I was bowled over by how lovely and attentive the owners were. I don't think I stopped smiling the whole time we were there. I wish them every success and hope to visit again one day soon.
