My experience of T&B was far from pleasant. 5 days before Christmas, I received a frivolous and vexatious pre-action claim letter from a Geoffrey Ellis, representing another of their solicitors, Guy Curry. In his letter, Mr. Ellis falsely claimed we had defamed Mr. Curry and demanded compensation. I twice wrote to Mr. Ellis asking him to explain what we had said about his client/ colleague that was in anyway inaccurate or unsupportable. His replies failed to provide any explanation of this, and he then went silent. Mr. Ellis’s failure to answer my simple question was, in my view, contrary to pre-action protocol guidance provided by the courts which solicitors are expected to follow. My subsequent complaint to Mr. Curry and Mr. Ellis’s seniors concerning, in my view, their rather grubby conduct was met with denials. I hope by publishing this review that T&B might be encouraged to put in place the necessary safeguards to prevent their staff from operating with such impunity.
