I had a one-to-one coffee meeting with Nicola Haigman from The Numbers Quarter, and it was one of the most valuable conversations I’ve had in a long time. We discussed pricing in my business, and she really helped me shift my perspective on how I value the services I offer.

Nicola helped me realise that by charging hourly, I was potentially undervaluing myself — especially because I’m very efficient and can complete work much faster than average. She encouraged me to think in terms of the value and impact of the work, rather than the time it takes. That alone gave me a huge boost in confidence.

She also introduced the idea of pricing in packages or using a credit-based system for retainers, which I’d never seriously considered before. It made me see how I could structure things more clearly for clients while still being fair to myself. She even shared how reflection plays a big part in pricing — taking time to look back on what worked (or didn’t) and adjusting for the future.
