We had an amazing meal here with our family celebrating our wedding. The food was absolutely outstanding, everyone enjoyed the meal and wants to return to enjoy more of the menu. As there was 14 of us, we pre-ordered and the staff brought out the meals promptly and knew what each person had ordered making it quite seamless. We asked if we could add a table centre piece and decorations, which they were more than happy to accommodate and help us with. Would highly recommend The Lion, the food, the staff and the atmosphere is just perfect.

Lovely dinner with mother. The food is deliciously homemade and freshly cooked, the portions are large and the service is friendly. I can recommend the street eats, and the sticky toffee pudding was 😍😍😍

Really lovely pub and quirky interior. Staff were brilliant and super friendly. Thank you to Jack and Dan.
I had the gammon and chips and it was mediocre for a steep price of £19.50. Taste was ok but the egg was solid and was a very small piece of gammon. Chips were ok.
Will I eat eat again, yes probably.

Had a pleasant meal here last night!

Beautifully presented food that tastes as good as the look! Friendly staff that are trained professionally, always greets you with a smile. Most importantly they know exactly when to approach your table! Comfortable and tasteful decor to seat in and enjoy.

We had a fantastic experience at The Lion! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming—perfect for a relaxed meal. The food was absolutely 10/10—delicious, fresh, and generously portioned. We tried the chicken and the prime burger, and both were outstanding. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Unfortunately, there was no space in the dining area, but the bar area was quite comfortable. The Sunday roast was well-prepared, though the dessert didn’t quite satisfy my taste. Custard was delightful.

Lovely decor & surroundings . The food was tasty, hot & well presented , wasn't quite perfect enough for 5 stars (the chicken wings starter although tasty, were actually sweet chilli and not salt n pepper, left fingers very sticky and no water bowl provided ) but I would still recommend the food and visit again . The service however was slow especially with drinks. No offer of water for the table and had to be asked twice before it came . Nice menu and lovely atmosphere. Overall 4/5

Booked in to eat Sunday lunch after a walk. Got soaked and then lost, so arrived VERY late. Tyler took really good care of us. Making us feel welcome and valued. Rather than a late inconvenience. And the food was excellent. Astonishingly good beef.
Highly recommend.
