Beautiful pub in an idilic village. Great set of taps which obviously include plenty of Hook Norton beers. Big beer garden and plenty of space in the bar and restaurant.

Fantastic friendly welcome, staff were excellent, couldn't do enough for you and the landlady was superb. We ended up eating at the pub on the evening as well and watching the saturday night entertainment. Food was great and really good value, breakfast the following day was great too. Room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. All in all a top notch experience.

Stopped for a family catch-up and lunch. Great atmosphere and historic building. Good portion sizes and lovely food. Sat in the garden both before and after eating. Friendly staff and clean toilets.

Looking at previous reviews, I can only assume we caught this place on a bad weekend. Saturday night with live music and they're out of ice by 6.30. White wine was served at room temperature. Very disappointing...
Bar staff all looked frustrated, particularly with the electronic order/payment screen.
Cant comment on the food as we didnt book a table. However, the response when we enquired about a possible table was very abrupt.
Aside from our experience, this is a beautiful historical building with an interesting history.

Apart from being a little shabby round the edges, we couldn’t fault this place. |A lovely spot with friendly staff, sweet rooms, a bar & restaurant full of character, the George was a superb choice for a Saturday night out. |Not only did we enjoy incredible food that evening & a great breakfast the following morning, the whole package was extremely good value & all four of us truly enjoyed our time there.

A nice little find
Our room was very nice, very clean. The bed was comfy.
A nice little pub area and a pool table in the back. Dinner was good we had the three dish menu good value for money.
A nice selection of beer at the bar. Met a few of the locals, nice chatty people. A big garden area which one of the locals takes care off.
The landlady and bar staff were very friendly, welcoming and engaged in conversation.
Breakfast was really good
Will recommend and will stay here again.
