We haven't been to this pub for some years since the wife moved away from Bedford but it remains a great venue with good food, it is highly recommended to book if you want to eat as the place is normally full because of the quality of the food.
We went back this time due to a classic car show, this was a well run charity event a little pricey but it was for charity. Hence photo I have added are from the car show.
If you know you are going to be in the area and you want to eat book a table you will love it.

Very fast service once ordered, think the starters arrived 9 minutes after ordering. Very nice food, reasonable portions, think some of the prices were a bit high for what you get, the steak is probably 10-15% above what it's worth, starters were a little over priced for what you get (but taste nice and are good quality)

Very busy on a Sunday evening, definitely recommend booking, some tables/chairs a bit small and cramped.

Overall, nice food, good fast service, will definitely be going back to try the main menu as other stuff available that you can't have on Sundays. Well done!😀

The Cross Keys has a cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and plenty of parking. The food arrived quickly and my partner's halloumi fries were tasty. Unfortunately, my haddock was very disappointing and had a bad taste. I wouldn't recommend ordering fish here.

The staff at The Cross Keys provided an outstanding service for our after funeral celebration.
The advice given regarding numbers and the reassurance at every step made for a flawless event.
The food choice was excellent and catered for all our needs.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue for private hire. A truly excellent choice that made a difficult day so much easier.

Service was excellent, fast and lovely servers.
Food was very good, I had Sea Bass. The steak and ale pie looked amazing (a proper slice of pie with a pastry bottom) packed with meat. Enjoyed our meal there. A good place for your pub grub 👍👍

One of our favourite places to go for their lovely Sunday roast. Their food and dessert are worth coming back for over and over. We had particularly amazing service from the owner/manager, all of the staff and the delightful Kayleigh. Thank you all for your delicious service and food xx
