Wonderful stay with delicious food and a lovely team who went out of their way. The building is gorgeous with lots of secret rooms. There was no where better to sit than in front of the roaring fire.||We loved room 10 and the roll top bath. Try the cocktail of the month, it was great!

Nice place and the service was good with the alcohol reasonably priced but the food was massively overpriced for what you get, £100 of food ordered between the two of us with no desserts included in that and I can honestly say not one part of the meal left me thinking wow that was worth it. They also put an automatic service charge on which I'm not a fan of, I'm not sure if this can be taken off but let's be honest who is going to argue this as it's just embarrassing for both parties. Won't go again as other restaurants offer the same quality of food if not better for less and do not put a ridiculous service charge on an already expensive meal.

The food was lovely as was the decor but the best thing about it was the young man who seemed to be the duty manager. I can't remember a more professional discreet welcoming and efficient experience... and i told him so in person
He's going a long way in hospitality if it's his chosen path

We enjoyed a Sunday evening Dine and Stay. I found this place refreshingly superb. The building itself is a very old a coaching inn 1495. The Crown has been recently decorated and the style and tone of everything is lovely. You are in deepest darkest Suffolk but there are no cobwebs or musty damp walls instead you find immaculately exposed oak beams and rooms of autumn shade ochre with wonderful accents. The staff were fabulous and every need and request was met with a smile accompanied by the offer to do even more to make your stay comfortable. The food was just stupendous. It was locally sourced which I like and cooked beautifully. I had Brill for my main course and it was perfect. All other food and drink , such as the " Silver Adder," beer and Baron Bigod on the cheese board also absolutely wonderful. When I finally weigh up the price we paid along with the excellent staff and food, I do think that this must be one of the best or maybe the best smallish hotels in the UK. I will definitely be staying again, a fabulous Suffolk Secret that's for sure.

After spending a night here I would like to thank all of the team George,Honey,Isla,Grace and Harry. All of whom made us feel incredibly welcome, nothing was to much and attention to detail was more than accounted for. The room was amazing, clean, comfy and beautiful. The food was out of the this world. But to top it all I would say that although it was a busy evening the staff team continued to give 100% with all customers whilst having a smile on there face.

We look forward to returning ❤️

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Bildeston Crown, and it was an experience to remember. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and it was a lovely atmosphere.

The room was absolutely beautiful – elegantly decorated, spacious, and comfortable. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, making it a perfect blend of luxury and coziness.

The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the food with incredible flavours and beautifully presented dishes. We booked the Sunday dine and stay offer which gave us a 3 course meal included in the price and it was one of the best roast dinners we’ve ever eaten out.
Topping it off was the beautiful breakfast the following morning, delivered to our room so we could enjoy breakfast in bed. The perfect finish to the stay.

A special mention goes to Callum, a staff member who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. His attentiveness, friendliness, and professionalism were outstanding.

Also, Alfie, what a guy. Made our evening drinks and the bar thoroughly enjoyable and relaxed.

In summary, the Bildeston Crown exceeded all our expectations. From the fantastic food and beautiful room to the warm welcome for our dog and the tremendous service, it was an unforgettable stay and we will most definitely be back. Highly recommended!

I had lunch there today, from the set menu, it was not great. Chicken caeser starter was a whole greasy chicken thigh including skin and bone plonked on top of shredded lettuce. I couldnt eat it so sent it back. Foe main I ordered moules & frites. This came up as a large cob roll, middle scooped out with about 10 unshelled mussles in the middle swimming in white sauce. After 5 minutes the bread soaked up the sauce. The side of fries was the best part. Fortunately the peach melba parfait saved the day, could not fault the pudd. For such a high end venue you really need to up your game. I eat out a kot and am spoilt for choice in this area. Quite frankly it was not exceptable fayre!

We were delighted to get a table here today without booking ….just a spur of the moment decision |to re visit one of our favourite haunts! ||We have been lunching here for over 30 years and had both our grandson’s christening party and my husband’s 70th birthday celebration here! We know it well. ||We found that the menu had plenty of choice. |We both choose the asparagus soup …delicious, but for the very expensive price not so generous….pity.||Our main courses were as expected, but again my monkfish dish was rather sparse with its vegetables , although beautifully seasoned. ||Lovely choice of very pricey puddings…I did succumb…..! ||All in all …a lovely place to dine . Thank you .
