Very disappointed with the service I would totally avoid using this solicitors for home buyers. After we provided all the documentation requested they pulled out without even giving a reason. When called to ask what the reason of the withdrawal was they refused sharing any information. To avoid wasting your time and money I would recommend using any other service with competent staff .

Taunton Solicitors took on a case from a client who was clearly in the wrong over a tenancy dispute, wasting both their time and money in the process—an embarrassing display of poor judgment and lack of expertise. They threatened my elderly father with court over baseless claims, backed by zero evidence, only to disappear when we provided a factual response. Their unprofessionalism, lack of accountability, and failure to address the matter after escalating it reflect a complete disregard for fairness, responsibility, or any semblance of industry competence.

Tried getting an appointment based on a recommendation, the first impression was that the receptionist was very rude over the phone. I was happy to overlook that since everyone has bad days. After explaining our situation to one of their solicitors we were told we were going to get a call back which we never did. I called the person we wanted to see directly and got an appointment only to get a call later saying that I was explained to already that they won’t work with us. I never had such a call, no one ever contacted me to say they won’t work with us or why that may be, but the receptionist wouldn’t listen, she kept talking over me and telling me they will not work with us and thats that. Felt like I was a burden to them for trying to receive a paid service. Wasted my time!

Reported the issues to them, and then they came back with this reply. Throughout the whole of my dealing with yourselves, the communication has been abysmal. There has been a lack of communication with my estate agent and the buyers solicitors. I have not been kept in the picture at all, but have had to chase you up. Your emails are very vague and I have now been handed over to another person to deal with my matters without any notification at all not knowing who she is. I have fed this back to my estate agent and if the sale should fall through, I will be seeking recompense via my solicitor.

I had a fantastic experience with Taunton Solicitors using them to aid the process of purchasing my property.
To say that the service was good was an understatement.
Throughout the whole process I was routinely updated with the progress of my house purchase and when I was unsure about certain aspects I would receive a call to explain to ease my mind.
The whole process was completely stress free and simple which made my life a lot easier trying to deal with what I needed to buy for my new home.
I actually found that I was some of the cause of delays because I had to try and find certain documents I needed to provide and couldn’t keep up with what was required. It was a great relief to have a company that is prompt in getting the process moving forward unlike some companies that drag their heels and require constant reminding.

Excellent service throughout!

We were looked after extremely well by Bruce, Penny, and the team when purchasing our first home.

They offered good value for money and were always upfront with costs and what was involved.

Their customer service and response time was great, especially considering the pandemic and how busy the housing market has been.

In addition to being first time buyers we had some nuances that needed to be dealt with. They took the time to explain everything and advise us on the best course of action.

Throughout there were no surprises, everything went to plan and within the target time frame.

After getting a few quotes for sorting the purchasing of a property we decided to go with Taunton Solicitors due the number of highly positive reviews and the reasonable quote we received and we're extremely glad we did.

Adam was especially helpful, even though the entire industry was under strain from a sudden increase in property sales/purchases during the stamp duty holiday he was always willing to pick up the phone to explain things, give reasonable suggestions and answer any questions we had about the process.

The only criticism I could probably offer is that the process took twice the amount of time quoted on the outset of engaging their services. However, to be fair to them, this delay was experienced by everyone in the industry.

I certainly wouldn't hesitate recommending their services to others and we will certainly use them again in the future.
