Hello again to the people in the reviews, please consider carefully before opening up your pockets and providing your information to stowe family law.

Let's start with the complaints procedure, several times we have asked for call backs only to be left in the lurch for weeks months on occasion.
Asked for simple requests to be contacted with any urgent information.

Contact usually went like this "Hi x we have done such and such the deadline is today but you have run out of money on account." "Please put £2000 on account as we can't do work without money on account." "Failure to do so and we will stop representing you."

For the record we paid everytime they asked for it upfront.

So you put money on account and then expect something to be done.

Only to be met with the same message a few weeks later they used £4000 within one month on very little to zero work produced. This happened to the tune of Thirty Thousand pounds.

The problem is now that they will not admit they have made a mistake, instead of admiting that the solicitor they had on the case was on reduced hours and due to leave for maternity.

They are charging us for work someone else had to pick up.

Your own business practices dictated many times that you do not work on account without funds.

We are willing to pay for the final stages, however all trust has gone and covered in fugazie. Not the 1700 for work done without permission.

Let's see how fast the response team are to comment on this post.
Last time it was weeks for an actual response from them verbal or email.

Charlotte Newman is exceptional

As an experienced lawyer, I took considerable time and care in finding the most talented family lawyer possible to represent me. Charlotte Newman was recommended to me by a very senior family lawyer.
Charlotte is technically excellent, prompt and tactical and is able to deal with both finances and children as well as having a right to audience in court. She takes it as a matter of personal pride to deliver the best possible legal advice and service and is also a pleasure to deal with. She actually cares about her clients.
Charlotte is exceptional and I highly recommend her.

This company was recommended by a friend who is in the law industry and came highly praised. However, dealing with them repeatedly time wasting being unclear on what we should do to proceed with the issues we were having.

The company rules they specifically made clear to us were "we can't do work on the account until there is money on the account" and makes perfect sense.
Proceed to demand cash with one or two days to deadlines.
They also proceeded to work on the account without any knowledge to us the party and the bill an additional three thousand after the issue had been resolved.
They haven't made any costs clear to us and when we had an issue in regards to poor communication. They proceeded to charge over five hundred pounds for a complaint.

After we complained again about poor customer service, they claimed to have done an investigation and found nothing out of the ordinary on the account but a few days later issue a credit for around four hundred pounds.

Repeated charges for the same information sent to us and vice versa. demanded we pay for a trainee to go to court so they could have experience.
Imagine getting to a court hearing without ever having had a face to face conversation or a telephone call and spending roughly fifteen thousand pounds to that point.

I would personally not recommend Stowe Family Law, the practice of using vulnerable people as piggy banks, doing very little work and making up units of time.

Following this review, I will be contacting the ombudsman and the SRA.

Avoid this company do alittle research before you get involved with them.

This has been one of the most disappointing services I have had the misfortune of dealing with.

TLDR: very lackluster confusing hard to understand jargon. Lack of substantial advise in regards to divorce.

Extortionate prices for little to any work done. Multiple people at their end dealing and requesting the same information several times and charging for it.

Bully tactics about money on account and no work will be done, then charging a bill to the account without prior consent or warning.

I had the pleasure of Charlotte Newman working my case. I can’t recommend her enough. I called completely clueless ready to leave my home with children in tow until she advised me of my rights and how to get these in place within 24 hours. All my ordered were granted. Charlotte has a reputation for getting things done and her name comes with clout to the point my ex partner changed his 3 times. She was not only available legally but was there to support me emotionally when needed. It was a nasty situation with the other party being underhand but Charlottes experience and knowledge was something they couldn’t match. Would highly recommend. She is efficient and effective. I would like to especially mention Charlotte Newman, who handled my case. I went through an extremely difficult divorce however, the professionalism and expertise from Charlotte was exceptional throughout. In the end, Stowe Solicitors enabled me to get everything I wanted from the proceedings, and I am really happy with my outcome. Whilst Stowe solicitors are particularly expensive, you can expect to get a high quality of service from them.

I was represented by Charlotte Newman at Stowe Family Law and quite simply, she got me through the most difficult and torrid period of my life. She kept me going when I saw no light at the end of the tunnel. She provided knowledge, reassurance and comfort. And all resulting in an outcome I didn't think was even close to being achievable - especially from the starting position I was put in.

Charlotte has an incredible fountain of family law knowledge, is firm in her stance, is clearly very hard working and she makes it apparent that she will fight for and alongside you until the right outcome is reached. And it was. The advice given by Charlotte was accurate at every juncture and I recommend her to anyone needing best in class divorce counsel.

Updated. The review disappeared. Stowe presented as inept in terms of arranging meetings. The first call was not received within the designated timeline with Stowe placing the onus on us to rebook the call.. despite their shoddiness. The second attempt again did not take place due to system failures with an email being received from Stowe once again placing the onus on us to contact them for the 4th time. Really poor

Excellent firm. I was very imppresssed with the service that I got from my Solicitor. They were friendly and informative and I believe they got me the best possible outcome for my siutuation. Very clear pricing and invoicing. It was nice to deal with someone who actually cares rather than someone who just wants to win
