I completed my Emergency First Aid at Work course yesterday with
South West Training Solutions & was very impressed with both the content & layout. Amanda was very thorough with demonstration’s & the information she presented. I particularly liked the laid back & friendly approach where nobody was made to feel uncomfortable or put on the spot!
I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this company!
Thanks,
Richard

I feel that the trainers need to be more aware of training techniques when teaching people whose first language is not English and who have zero experience and are obviously not understanding or getting to grips with the course content. I feel 2 people on my last course probably left feeling even more confused, as I felt confused as an experienced carer of 17 years. The tone of the instructor is quite demeaning and condescending, when a trainee states repeatedly "I do not know how to do this" and the instructor insists the trainee goes ahead and attempts to do the manual handling movement anyway, just so the trainer can then say "you did that wrong". I feel like he liked the ability to ask difficult questions about rules and regs and the law which he knows the class aren't going to know the answers to, just to belittle the class. When challenged over certain techniques the go to was to ask where you worked and then to proceed to slate the establishment you work at and tell you that he knows "for a fact" that this or that happens there. unfortunately I do not have a choice with who I recieve my training from, I have to go where my employer sends me but I have given feedback to my employer. others on my course also felt the delivery of the information during training was confusing. I felt there was no point raising this issue to the instructor on the day as he clearly had an inflated ego and this criticism would not have been recieved well. the handout at the end for feedback also seems like a waste of time, as does this review in fact as I'm sure nothing will be acknowledged as the trainer certainly felt like he knew everything and was not open to listen to other ideas or suggestions at all. I had Steve as my trainer. Unfortunately Steve was more intent on showing off whilst in a sling acting difficult, throwing himself about, pulling the emergency lower etc rather than teaching 2 men who knew nothing about safe practices when hoisting. and yes I am aware that we need to learn about all the awkward things service users can do whilst in a hoist but surely when you have 2 men who have never hoisted in their lives who are looking at you so very very confused you're main focus would be on making sure they understood the basics of hoisting before acting the clown and bragging about how fast you can get a slide sheet under someone. dreading my update course.

I just wanted to add a few words to say how fantastic this company is. Our school have used them for several first aid courses now and I can honestly say they are the best! The training is outstanding, they are consummate professionals all wrapped up in a fun bundle. One of our staff members said " I learnt so much on tge course, it was brilliant and I don't think I've ever been on such an entertaining course either!". Thanks everyone, we will be seeing you next time.

As a company, we wouldn't go to any other training provider.
The staff are amazing at what they do, they are very experienced and the training provided is very thorough; the trainers have a very strong and sound knowledge base, and share their knowledge in ways that engage our care team and leave them ready to apply it with confidence in the work they carry out.
If we need to book in a training session last minute they are always happy to help and do everything they can to try and fit us in.
Overall, we couldn't recommend them enough.
