An entirely corrupt organisation.

The SRA are an active and enthusiastic participant in the culture of cover-up and closing ranks within the English legal establishment. No wonder solicitors behave as they do, they know that they can act with impunity. Dodgy, unethical lawyers know that they will face no sanction. The SRA and the staff that work there can barely be bothered getting out of bed. Any investigation they carry out will be superficial and and wholly inadequate and will almost certainly result in no action being taken against a solicitor. Don't waste your time with these people.

The SRA are sadly a fugazi. There should a be a real supervisory and disciplinary investigatory agency to make corrupt solicotrs accountable. The SRA website reads exactly the way such a body should act. It is exactly the opposite of how it actually functions.

How is it just the opposite of how they really work? They do not hold solicitors accountable. I suspect this is due to a mixture of several factors such as fear of the legal firepower law firms have from their insurers; a fear of alienating smart and powerful body of the Law Society; the fact that they are funded by the law firms themselves so cant attack the bigger firms that pay more to subsidise them; and the simple inability of theie staff to do competently do the job the should be doing to portect the general public..

I would not waste too much time seeking their advice unless it maybe it was against a small weak law firm or a solicitor from a minority background as several reports testify to discrimantion by the SRA against such lawyers.

Truth is that you need to do your homework BEFORE using a law firm as after the event a corrupt/dishonest law firm will easily circumnavigate any regulatory scrutiny from a fugazi organisation such as the SRA.

All the SRA had to do when I complained was investigate the records for the law firm and see they had been doctored and documents removed. But they have no interest in actually protecting the public.

NO CONFIDENCE IN SRA - negative services
complaining is non existence and the service of regulating solicitors is free fall & solicitors / lawyers are getting away with bad practising, misleading the public and once again the public are left unprotected with failing services in turn failing the public services. Even when strong evidence is presented they are turning a blind eye and everything falls on deaf ears !!! The service is not fit for purpose !

What an utter disgrace I would not even give one star. I provided a large amount of evidence to prove a solicitor had been dishonest and lied in a signed statement of truth to the courts in order to get my claim struck out. I am told that it will not be investigated because the case worker thought it was 'illogical'' that the solicitor would lie despite acknowledging major inconsistencies in how the firm responded to me to explain their lies. The useless case worker then went on to say in her 'view' it was an innocent mistake and I should contact her if the court finds any irregularities. This is a joke and a green light for solicitors to act without integrity and honesty.

Blatant 'protection racket' for corrupt solicitors involved in abuse.
Complete farce.
Don't follow their own published principles and typically keep complaint (cover up) off their response.
No more integrity than common crooks.

Do NOT Go Anywhere Near them. They uphold fraudulent solicitors. You tell them to get evidence and do they? NO. They close your case instead. The SRA are NO different to the GDC. No words are adequate to say what I feel about these 2 APPALLING organisations.
I found that the LSB regulates the SRA BUT when I called them they say their hands are tied by rules, they cannot do anything about the SRA if my case is closed. So, the LSB is a regulator butin NAME only. Regulators are Quango companies.
I put this solicitor in Court and when I win my case the SRA will know about it.
I told the SRA today that I will Sue Them. The SRA are CROOKS.
I won my case against this fraudulent solicitor, I called the SRA and told them, I said they should compensate me and was told, you're out of time.

Shocking so-called organisation, a faction of bandits who compete to see who can commit the most criminality. The SRA crew move heaven and earth to ensure fraudulent thieving solicitors are protected. How many solicitors that they claim to regulate are actually law-abiding? Building should be covered in police tape and their offices need to be overturned and thoroughly investigated, vile bunch, wonder what they teach their kids
