An awful experience, I don’t have long enough to list their shortcomings. Terrible communication, emails and phone calls unanswered, delays to a very simple chain. My full time job had to take a back seat to chasing my solicitor and communicating with other parties as no one could get hold of her. The list goes on. My solicitor didn’t even inform me she was going to be away at the time of exchange/completion (not that she had gathered the necessary documents in time for it anyway). After talking to her all week and arranging for documents to be dropped into her on Monday morning, I received an out of office response to an email I sent saying she would be away and did not receive any kind of handover to another member of staff. I had to call the office to see what was happening and if my exchange would be going ahead. We thank our lucky stars that a more experienced member took over as we truly believe we would still be waiting. We were offered a £50 reduction in fees, given our overall experience, we found this to be rather insulting.

I reached out to the director of this company via phone, via email and via our estate agent who had recommended that and he did not reply. In my opinion, any reply below this review will be completely disingenuous.

Currently trying to sell my house and buy a new house with this company on the referral of chancellors estate agent in Chesham. Was advise it would be a smoother process going with them as there practically an in house team. Their service is absolutely appalling. Our assign solicitors refuses to answer the phone. It has taken her months to pass on information. Currently buying an empty house and selling ours to first time buyers, should be relatively easy chain as far as chains go, our agent has made this whole process impossible. we’re now on the verge of everything falling through. If you have to use these lot be warned. If they try to assign Cassie Edward smith as an agent refuse. I have never in my life experienced such a poor service.

Simply represented our buyer in a recent transaction, and were beyond incompetent. Their involvement in the transaction delayed the process by months and nearly made it fall through on several occasions. They repeatedly and consistently offered poor advice to our buyer. All other professionals involved in the chain were absolutely blown away by the failings and complete lack of urgency of the conveyancer.

I implore you to not instruct Simply Legal, and if this firm are representing anyone in your chain prepare for an incredibly stressful experience.
