I signed up with Cognitia to upgrade my NVQ Level 5 in Occupational Health and Safety, into a Level 6.
I found the signing up process super easy and the communication was fantastic. Everything was explained to me and the interview with the assessor with extremely informative.
The submitting of assignments was straightforward and feedback provided through the online platform which was very easy to navigate and clearly laid out.
Would totally recommend Cognitia as a training provider.

I have recently undertaken and completed my Level 6 NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety Practice Upgrade. The process of registering and introduction for the course was very easy. The communication between staff, assessor and myself was very smooth. Registration and the course guidance notes in the web were easy to follow. Uploading of Units and evidence could not have been made any easier. I will definitely recommend Cognitia to friends and colleagues to undertake future courses with them

I found Cognitia training to be open & honest and there when I needed some help. I chose the NVQ 6 route as my preferred learning style, however, I found getting off the ground quite difficult.
Once I got what was required I was able to get on and I had allowed 12 months to complete which was spot on in the end. It could be done in 6 months if you get off to a good start?
To be able to complete this course you need to be in the role of safety manager/advisor to be able to demonstrate competence & provide supporting evidence.
I had 3 assessors over the 12 months so a bit of discontinuity in feedback (each has their own idea)
I had to do a bit of chasing to get it over the line.
Overall I would recommend Cognitia but feel free to shop around...

I found Cognitia Solutions very helpful and supportive. Their learning platform is very user friendly and easy to navigate. Once information was sent through, the assessor was very prompt in returning with feedback and with various suggestions on types of feedback giving the learner choices on the types of evidence which could be submitted. I only have positive things to say about my experience with SHEC Solutions and specifically Nigel Lewis who was my NVQ Assessor.

I enrolled on the NVQ level 5 to level 6 upgrade in Occupational Health and Safety management.

The onboarding was completed electronically and I received login details and a link to the training portal.

Within the portal there was an array of useful resources that I watched to allow me to progress quickly and without error. The resources are well set out, well presented and very useful.

It is a level 6 course so you have to provide evidence and a reflective account for each of the modules within the portal and they need to be to an academic level. So make sure you can evidence to this level of you are considering the upgrade.

Also note this is an assessment, not training. It is for you to prove you can meet the requirements.

I uploaded all of my documentation and supporting evidence into the portal, cross referencing the standards as necessary.

Nigel was quick to review my work and respond with feedback which was helpful.

On completion I was emailed to say my submission had been sent for external verification and to allow 30 days to receive my certificate.

I received a pdf of my certificate in under a week.

Absolutely fantastic service.

My journey started last year in Oct 2020 with Cognitia Solutions ever since i joined i was always being assisted with Zoe & Andrew who both has helped me through my learning Journey. I used Cognitia Solutions for my NVQ level 6 upgrade in occupational health and safety. The upgrade was achieved with some effort on my part to compile evidence for the additional elements, it was made easy by both the information and database supplied by Cognitia. I would recommend their services to any other H&S practitioners who are thinking about upgrading their existing NVQ qualification.
