The self build process can be filled with great highs and equally great lows, both testing and rewarding in equal measures. I'm going say without prejudice working with Self-Build Zone was a dream and fell squarely within the 'highs' camp. All any of us want is to feel heard, to feel our business is important and means something to the person on the end of the phone or email. The folk at Self-Build Zone never had me feeling any different. They were quick, concise, relatable and understood the needs of my project. I can't recommend them enough and will be sure to use their services again.

This year, renewing my Self-Build Zone insurance was a doddle! Last time I was sent lots of questions and had to fill in a form for a quote. This year I simply opened the email from last year, updated the answers and bingo! My quote arrived which was made very easy to pay. As the Beatles said "it's getting better every time"

Although buying the structural warranty online wasn't difficult the company Approved Consultant are very poor.
It has been a struggle all the way along
The office didn't contact me and I have never received any requests for any information. As a result of this I received a remedial form full of highlighted sections requiring answers.
I feel I am in the middle or the 'so what' building industry. I am just a private individual dealing with an industry with a bad attitude

It is nice to speak to real people who listened to my needs and offered constructive advice. I subsequently applied via the web site, which was clear and simple. Cover was arranged within 72hr of first contact. I hope I don't need to claim, but so far the whole process has been reassuringly personal & straightforward.

Phoned up for a quote for site insurance after a positive meeting with the company at the building and renovating show at the NEC.
To be told that they would only quote if I do all the work online and weren't interested in dealing with me directly. Very poor would not recommend.

The service, communication and friendliness was excellent.The policy seemed good but I'm so disappointed that the one time I want to use the insurance they say they can't help because I want defending against a tradesperson who is trying to rip me off and they only cover if I want to claim against a tradesperson. (they also wouldn't help in that scenario because the tradesperson has a really bad credit rating so they feel they wouldn't get anything back!)

I have been a customer for the last two years, hardly a new costumer! I have had no need to make a claim. The process for extending the cover is easy. Only issue is that there is no possibility of less than 3 month extension.
