Our experience with SBL Motorhomes was excellent from start to finish. Communication and customer service before pick up was outstanding from both Simon and Josh who were very helpful and friendly, answering all the questions we had on our first experience in a motorhome. Due to the pandemic, we did need to adjust our booking which was no trouble at all. The bitesize video guides shared by Josh were really handy and are great to refer back to whilst on our trip in case we forgot how to do something. The motorhome (Roller 246 2019) was amazing and we had a great road trip in it. It was comfortable for the 5 of us and could have fit another person. The bed above the drivers seat was the most comfortable and very big. I’m not sure what size it was but a double fitted sheet wasn’t big enough, so I’d recommend taking a larger sheet. The u-sofa which converts into a bed easily sleeps 3 people and I’d also recommend taking the largest non fitted sheet you can get for this. We didn’t need to use the dining table area as a bed so I couldn’t comment on that. I’d also recommend taking coat hangers to use in the cupboard. There is a huge amount of space to store under the motorhome, not to mention the many storage cupboards in the van. We all had a fantastic trip on our luxury motorhome, and coupled with the outstanding customer service we received, we will absolutely return to SBL Motorhomes again soon. Thank you, Josh and Simon!

We hired a motorhome from SBL to do the NC500, something we’d wanted to do for a while. It was our first time in a motorhome. It was the biggest vehicle I’d driven. We booked the 5 berth Roller Team 747 for 2 adults and a dog. It was easy, both to drive and operate. We had plenty of room. We went to Scotland at the end of October and my wife was a little concerned that it would be cold at night, but the heating was really good and it was very warm. The motorhome came with 2 gas bottles included and we still had a full bottle at the end of the break. We were away for 8 nights in total. Simon gave me a very thorough walk through when I picked it up and the small issues I had, which were down to unfamiliarity were quickly sorted. Really enjoyed our trip and looking forward to the next one. Would recommend.

We hired a Motorhome in June 2018 which we took to France. Josh and Simon were really helpful and made the whole hiring experience really easy. They were always contactable by phone when we needed their help to sort out a couple of minor issues whilst in remotest France. Their location is perfect for discovering France being only 30 minutes away from Folkestone. We would highly recommend SBL.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!

I decided to go away extremely last minute over Christmas 2019 and SBL Motorhome Hire were the only company to get back to me with a professional quote. Simon advised that everything was included and there were no extras to worry about (and this was proved correct). I decided to go ahead with the booking on Boxing Day and rang Josh at SBL on 27th. They were so keen to get me going on my last-minute trip to the Lake District, they agreed to hire me an Auto Roller 747 on the day. I booked for a week. I was greeted by both Simon and Josh with a smile and was show everything I needed to know about the vehicle and the vehicle's amenities. After all of the relevant paperwork etc was completed, I was driving towards the Lake District.
The vehicle itself was very luxurious. I hadn't done this before so did not know what to expect. Everything was brand new and the furniture was extremely modern. The Vehicle was just like driving a large van and was fitted with a rear camera. The drivers cabin felt like a first-class lounge and the main bed at the back Is very large. My partner, my dog and I loved the space it has to offer. I seem to pack for doomsday everywhere I go but there was ample storage for at least 6 people. The in-built sat nav meant I didn't have to use my phone whilst driving and the dog happily sat in-between the two chairs whilst driving. Going to the Lake District meant it was going to be cold, but the gas heaters were extremely good at keeping us warm at night and throughout the day. We didn't have electric hook ups, but this kept us away from the TV at the back. The gas covered the heating and the hot water, we used the farm's facilities for everything else. Bearing in mind the size of the vehicle, the motorhome was able to climb the steepest of hills in the Lake District without a problem.
The service from both Simon and Josh was great. This was proved when I messaged Josh at 8pm during the week to say there was a code displaying on the computer that controls the heating and the water. Within a minute, Josh called me to advise that I just needed to change the gas canister. I didn't expect an answer so quickly let alone that evening, but Josh was more than happy to help.
I was due to return the motorhome on 3rd Jan and was on my way back promptly until I hit the M6, I was running late and advised Josh accordingly. Josh then rang me to advise that I could simply drop it off the next morning without any charge. This saved me rushing around Kent in the evening and meant a lot less stress. Whilst parked, an unknown driver hit into the passenger windscreen and scraped the top mirror. After advising Josh and Simon I was told not to worry, and they'll have a look at it when I drop it off.
When I arrived, I was greeted by Simon with his usual smile and was asked in detail about my trip. This showed me that he wasn't bothered about the scratch on the mirror and was more interested about how my trip was, this is rarely seen anywhere these days.
After inspecting the mirror with his mechanic and to my amazement, I was told they didn't want any money from me for it, they just appreciated my custom. I was in complete shock, but this goes to show that a family run business is where our money should go.
To conclude, from start to finish, the service was exceptional. They were there for me if I had any questions and they were more than happy to change their plans to accommodate my timings. They are not after your money; they want you to have a great trip and to make sure you are completely stress free. I really appreciate the effort both Simon and Josh put into making this trip happen and I will certainly be booking with them again for NY 2020. I wish them all the best and look forward to seeing them again soon. If anyone has any questions about my experience, I am more than happy to answer them.

Having looked up on line, payed a visit to see what motorhomes they had for hire. Chap was very polite, opened up 3 vehicles for us to see. One particular one was ideal and well worth comparing before hiring. Very clean, modern fleet with selection likely to suit most. Good comprehensive package offered. Very impressed and would recommend.
