Absolute waste of time in contacting these bunch of idiots.. I have a 2 bed house which has myself, my partner, my 2 daughters and my son living here, my son is 16, my daughters are aged 12 and 9.
12 years I’ve been on the exchange list for a bigger house and they keep telling me I am not entitled to a bigger house, at the moment my son sleeps in the living room which now means we don’t have a living area 🤬.
We have had a number of repairs over the 12 years that I have reported and had people come out to take photos and that’s it. The kitchen cupboards have fallen apart over the years because they are just cheap tat and the draining board, sink and the worktop are coming away from the walls 😢 and they expect me to pay nearly Ā£900 a month for this kind of service..

Had enough of there excuses now and so health and safety and the housing ombudsman have been contacted and are due to visit the house for a full report and I think everyone who has been ā€˜ripped off’ by Saxon Weald should do the same, they can’t keep getting away with it.

Called up about a pipe crack in the kitchen sink. Woman on the phone said it wasn't an emergency as I had a bucket underneath it. I said I didn't want it to get worse and wanted someone to come out and fix it and she refused to send someone out just because she said it's not an emergency

Really disappointed with the housing association recently. My older parents are very vulnerable, paid their rent on time every year for nearly 38 years never asked for help until now.
They’ve been left multiple times without heating because the boiler was moved upstairs and freezes every time we get cold weather. But also told my dad who’s 85, to get up a ladder with boiling water to defrost the pipe. Their roof repair has been delayed multiple times over 3 years.
Windows they have only just gone on for renewal, after promises for two years.

I’m also a tenant that the front door sometimes locks when it feels like it. Or leaks and causes damage. But then they send out a plumber to fix the door. Our windows are older than 30+ years, leaking and have condensation which is causing mould. But we’re told it’s our fault not the fact the windows have blown.

Out of hours isn’t out of hours as they take up to 24hours to respond. They leave vulnerable, unwell tenants in homes that arnt fit for purpose but if you don’t pay your rent on time or keep your home up to standard, you are soon informed.

When you open a stage one complaint, they close it because they have ā€œput things in placeā€ not actually completed the work.

Today the lock on my bedroom window broke so I couldn’t shut my window or lock it. I’m on the ground floor so this is a security issue. I phoned Saxon but they were closed. I pressed the emergency option and got to speak to someone who told me she would arrange for someone to come out to look at it within 24 hours as it was a security risk. 3 hours later, a contractor arrived and fixed a new locking handle. The guy was lovely and we had a great chat while he worked. I’m so grateful to Saxon for providing such a good service even though it’s Christmas and their offices are closed.

UPDATED - MARCH 2025
Despite Saxon Weald's response that they would look at it in July 2024 - true to form nothing happened. BUT this week, Solar Engineers were booked to CLEAN my non-working solar panels ready to put up netting to stop the constant pigeon mess of the last 7 years....after speaking to them nicely they had a look at the system and fixed it - NO PARTS/INVERTER REQUIRED - just a cable that wasn't attached. Moral of the story, don't rent from a housing association that will ignore your repair requests until they have money to spend in the budget or more likely it will be a chance repair like mine. Nothing changes but at least I may be able to do one load of washing a day for free now.....whatever else the system generates then Saxon Weald will receive the monetary benefit from what is fed back to the grid. There really is only one consistent winner here and it is not the tenants!

Useless - have to complain persistently to get repairs or issues sorted - never enough money to do rectification works to their new builds which have been thrown up.
Still waiting for solar equipment to be repaired since Feb 2018 in 2024.
Solar panels with no protection so pigeon poo everywhere.
Houses you can't afford to heat with so called 'affordable rents'.
New tenants means tested on incorrect running costs, inadequate heating & insulation, lack of ventilation, the list is endless, avoid if you can. Cheaper overall to rent privately & risk the situation until Section 21's are finally banned!!

Once you move in you start to discover just what they're really like. I understand you're probably desperate for a home, but if I chose again, I definitely would not take one of their properties.
