I found SAS while Googling “grey divorce” when I was at my lowest point in life — after discovering my decades-long marriage was ending. I just wasn’t ready — emotionally, financially, or mentally. Thanks to the coaching of Liza, and to being a part of SAS’s Annie’s Group, I was able to piece myself together enough to successfully navigate a challenging divorce. And then begin to envision better days ahead. ☀️ I recently completed Paloma’s Group, for women past the legal divorce process. Working in a SAS coach-led circle of trust-worthy women (of all ages and backgrounds) was better than therapy in helping me process the “what the heck happened?” questions and move into a place of self-compassion and healing. I’m so grateful to SAS leaders Liza and Dori for their empathetic and self-empowered approach. ?

When I was faced with a separation and divorce after 27 years of marriage, I became completely overwhelmed emotionally and logistically. I was paralyzed not knowing where to start or what to do around finances, legal decisions, coping with grief, or how to approach friends and family. We don't know what we don't know and yet I felt expected to know what to do. I had read about SAS for Women but was intimidated by the group approach and skeptical that Liza and the SAS crew could really provide the support necessary to sanely navigate this divorce journey. I was also petrified of spending any money. Joining SAS for Women was the smartest decision I made! Through structured classes and more intimate Sister Partner sessions I discovered that what I was feeling and experiencing were all normal and I found strength to engage those areas of self-discovery that had felt so off limits and way too scary to explore on my own. Logistically, I learned how to interview and interact with attorneys, financial advisors, and explored strategies for next steps through regular one-on-one sessions with Liza. I am no longer skeptical, paralyzed or petrified; I am informed, educated, and empowered! SAS for Women is about committing to becoming the best version of you 🙂

I was in search for a divorce support group and came upon your website which sounded like it was just what I was looking for. I missed my appointment with Liza, but not only did she suggest a call in lieu of the appointment, she was incredibly gentle, but firm, loving but helped me set some clear boundaries and I felt validated and understood. In the time that I spent on the phone with Liza, I felt like I genuinely got out of it more than my many years of therapy. She understood exactly where I am right now and how my emotions can fluctuate from moment to moment. She asked some very poignant questions which really hit home and from one of my answers I adopted my new mantra that I owe it to myself to be authentic to me. I felt comfortable with her and as if I had known her from some time and was having a face to face conversation; now that's incredibly impressive! The most amazing part of this was that she offered all this nurturing, encouragement, wisdom and education knowing that I probably wouldn't be able to sign up with her for additional sessions.

I would highly recommend SAS Women to any woman who is simply thinking about possibly separating or divorcing from their husband. You'll come away with a wealth of education, awareness, resources and will feel validated, nurtured and celebrated for all you are. If you're as lucky as me you may even feel like you've made a friend. This is one decision that I am glad I made as it has become an essential step to moving forward with some clear direction. I have met with both Kim and Liza for coaching and found them both to be professional, compassionate and encouraging. They provided me with introductions and connections to doctors, financial advisers, and more. With their help I am now in much better shape than I was a few years ago. I still like to check in with Liza every few months ---it helps me to keep on track with my goals.
