I used Ratcliffes for my house sale in August 2022 despite not being local to them but based on a longstanding family recommendation. I was very happy with the service which they provided from start to finish and so I was more than happy to instruct them for the purchase of my new home in February of this year. Mandy was as friendly, approachable and helpful as she was the first time. After a lot of disappointment with other solicitors (poor communication, ridiculous quotes), I decided to give Ratcliffes a try for a house purchase. From day one, Mandy was incredibly helpful and the quote was competitive. Throughout the process both Luke (our dedicated solicitor) & Mandy never failed to keep us updated and correspondence was extremely fast (as was the entire process!). Everyone rightly has their own opinions and views regards Solicitors shaped by their individiual experiences, our is one based on two house sales and one purchase, all over just a few months. I firstly would like to say that Ratcliffes as a firm are approachable and unlike many others actually answer the phone and know who you are!. Mandy is very knowledgable and in our case had a handle on everything that was happening. Luke was again approachable and expeditious and was on the end of the phone when those little questions need answering. A great team that enabled us to progress the sales and purchase without hitch, and cost wise we found them very reasonable. We will certainly be using them again in the near future., Thanks.

A rating of 1 star is generous for this ‘company’. My first encounter with Ratcliffes was with Mandy. I was told to come into the office to provide my bank details. To say she was rude would be a compliment. I first assumed she was just bringing her problems to work but later to find out that’s just her personality. But I would be just as miserable working for this company as well, so I understand. The communication I had with Ratcliffes was non existent. They never followed up with what they tol the simplest of procedures such as confirming bank details on their letters, when they do send them, they contain basic spelling mistakes. The whole energy of the business has a pretty relaxed vibe of dragging their feet and not one bit considering other people. One time I tried to get in contact with Ratcliffes, I sent a total of 10 emails and 5 phone calls without a single response. I then sent a final email telling them I will be in the area shortly and will pop into the office to get confirmation, and suddenly I got a response! How this company is still in business is a miracle.
