I was recommended this law firm via my mortgage broker. I completed on a property back in May 2024. Since my completion, I have had a number of issues due to incompetence from this law firm. A number of documents which should have been sent to the management company responsible for my property were never sent by the law firm. I had to constantly chase the law firm in order to get this done. I am now being taken to court by the property management company for unpaid fees which the law firm should have paid. I have emailed them and got no response. I have also called them and keep getting left on hold. The unprofessionalism is unbelievable. I would not recommend this company To anyone. The worst part is that they completely ignore you and don’t respond to phone calls or emails. Yesterday I managed to get hold of one of the team managers called Michelle, she promised to email me but never did. I’m writing this review in the hope that someone from the firm will get in contact with me. I have read all the reviews and their line seems to be asking clients to get in contact with them. That is very unprofessional. They should be reaching out to clients who have paid for a service and sorting out the issues that they have created. Please save yourselves a headache and do not use this company.

I would do everything you can to avoid using pm property lawyers. I thought I would use a local solicitors that had been recommended to me and went for pm solicitors in Maidenhead. I was then transferred to a team up in Sheffield. There has been absolutely zero to no communication throughout the whole process and everything takes an unbelievable amount of time. My buyer has now pulled out of the sale because of the length of time taken. It is a sale with no chain so I’m not waiting for others. Throughout the four months it’s taken to do around 50% of the conveyancing I have spoken to my property lawyer once. They have a complete lack of ability to follow any basic instructions you give to them and at no point give you any contact to explain what’s happening. Either they are useless at their jobs or they are severely understaffed. Please if you read this review avoid using them as much as you can, I don’t know how such an incompetent business can still be running.

Avoid at all costs! Appalling service! Totally unresponsive, useless and take months to respond to even basic questions and place no urgency on anything. They acted for our sellers and took 4 months to answer initial inquiries. They never respond to emails, and on the day of completion, they realized they didn't have all the necessary documents from their clients.
Do yourself a favor and find decent, professional solicitors, even if they charge higher fees. You will regret choosing them just because their fees are lower. Needless to say, the purchase was not completed.
9 months wasted because of these unprofessional so-called solicitors. Just read the reviews and save your mental health and time!

PM property lawyers were dealing with our house purchase. We was told it would take 6-8 weeks maximum as it was a cash sale with no chain.
Communication was zero and when we contacted them it was a long wait on the phone to either be hung up on or told our solicitor was busy. We left numerous messages for call backs but ignored every time. We made a complaint but nothing much changed. 20 weeks on We decided to instruct them to stop working on the case and this is when we got a call asking us to change our mind.
We told them no, what a waste of 20 weeks. Luckily for us the house seller has been patient and we are now with a proper solicitors who have guaranteed completion within 4 weeks.
Absolute joke of a company, no personal touch, no interest in your concerns. Do not touch this company.....big mistake.

Avoid this awful law firm, particularly if you're purchasing/selling your property. This firm caused a number of problems with my transaction from start to finish.

The main issue was on completion date. My other solicitor completed the sale of my property early in the morning and sent funds straight to PM Law (Team Speller) as expected.

It took me all day to get in touch with PM Law and it wasn't until late in the afternoon that I found they'd made a complete and utter mess of the transaction. Within the space of one hour, they told me that they'd received too much money, and then they told me that they hadn't received enough money before then telling me that they didn't think they'd received any money before finally confirming that they had actually received the money all along. It took until 4.55pm for them to confirm money had been sent for my purchase. Their complete incompetence to simply send to some money to another solicitor left us in a position where we were told to find a hotel for the weekend as the purchase was unlikely to go through.

If that wasn't bad enough, I spent weeks after chasing them asking for them to confirm the transactions which took place and return any excess funds to me. They've finally confirmed that they've been holding on to extra money from my transaction and said they'd send it to my bank account. Several weeks have passed since then, I've chased them constantly and not had a single response from them since. I'm now left out of pocket and with the only option of raising the complaint directly with the Legal Ombudsman and SRA.

Conveyancing firms tend to get a bad reputation, however I have used several in the past and I can honestly say that this one goes out of it's way to provide the worst possible service it can - wish I'd read the reviews before instructing them as seems like others have had similar experiences - but at least they're consistently bad I suppose...

Edit: the fact that PM Property Lawyers have replied to say ‘please do contact us directly’ is laughable to say the least! I have chased them 7 times already, my other solicitor has contacted them and the introducer, Home Legal Direct has also contacted them and they haven’t provided a single response to anyone, other than their generic response below. Extremely worrying behaviour from a regulated business!

Absolutely shocking and would avoid at all costs. Our seller used PM and they did everything to slow down the process.
Our solicitor could never contact them and rarely replied to emails.
They requested mortgage funds on the day of completion for our buyer and we ended up paying an extra £400 in removal costs because completion didn't happen until late in the day.
I have no idea how this company is still allowed to trade.

Avoid at all costs. The price of their services alone results in many phone calls from them and the amount of emails trying to force you to use their "services" is overwhelming. Additionally, they send emails that sound like demands for payment - even though I have not signed any agreement with them.
"This e-mail is a reminder that you have an outstanding payment request with us.
The details of the payment are as follows:
Case Reference: 12F0000000.1
Amount: £50.00"

No, I do not have an "outstanding payment" I am not your customer - and never will be, because after so many negative reviews on Google I decided that I will not even answer the phone from your helpline, let alone send you any documents or money.

Do yourself a massive favour AND USE SOMEONE ELSE!
PMPL are slow, ineffective, inefficient and unprofessional!
All the one star reviews are true based on our experience! Communication is diabolical; they don’t respond to emails, don’t answer the phone and don’t seem to care about their clients.
We were asked to send documents we had already sent. For 6 weeks there was NO communication whatsoever with us. Then they tried to overcharge us by over 30% (£741).
Sadly, they were recommended by a National chain of Estate Agents, so we did not check the reviews. The Estate Agent chain told us they will NEVER use PMPL again, and nor should you.
Formal Complaint made and whilst they admitted “poor service and things took longer than they would have liked”, this was blamed on “human error” rather than institutional failings in the management and professional oversight of this company.
Absolutely shocking service - believe the one star reviews as they are all true!
