Unbelievable and deeply disappointing.

Evidence has come to light that proves the police officers concocted the charges against me and completely discredits their version of events (or maybe they have faulty recollections?). I steadfastly maintained my innocence to my solicitor, and at no point did I think she was not safeguarding my best interests. Knowing what I now know, either she could not be bothered or genuinely believed the allegations (assault of an emergency worker and public order, absolutely ridiculous charges from ridiculous people who, it seems, have ample resources to waste thanks to the country's lack of crime).

If I did not know any better, she was working for the police.

She did not request the body-worn video, which proves in no uncertain terms that I did not even touch the officer; she told me there is NO body-worn video, which I could not understand. It is common knowledge that the police switch on their BWV devices whenever they interact with the public. I know their devices were switched on at several points. The only 'evidence', and I cannot stress this enough, literally the only evidence the prosecution had was four coppers having each other's backs and corroborating their stories. The BWV was not submitted into evidence, and for good reason. I do not know whether she genuinely thought there was no BWV (it is possible the police lied to her about its existence). However, not only did it disprove the officers' stories, but it was pretty evident I was suffering a mental health crisis (for which the police decided to mock me and knowingly made me homeless, not before abusing me in custody). The treatment I received from everyone that evening when I was going through such a difficult time, from the police officers who crushed my head into the floor (I have a cyst on the brain) to the custody nurse withholding my antipsychotic medication and slapping me, really makes me quite sad to know such people exist. The police were determined to punish me because I was an easy target, and their actions further impacted my mental health.

But I digress; it is deeply disappointing to realise the extent of the injustice I have faced. I was forced to pay £400 in compensation to a police officer for a charge they fabricated, who did not even have a scratch after I supposedly kicked them in the face. I was also convicted of a public-order offence for a few choice words the officers did not like (probably the tipping point where the officers became vindictive; another trumped-up charge).

It is not the charges themselves that trouble me, but the police's unchecked power to fabricate charges without any consequences and their complete immunity from the law they are supposed to uphold. If the BWV was requested, they suppressed and denied its existence to further their lies, and their ability to withhold crucial evidence with no accountability should not happen.

Even before the BWV, I was prepared to fight the case vigorously. However, the courts' predisposition to side with the police made it an uphill battle. She repeatedly told me that my case was weak and hopeless and advised me to plead guilty. I did so, not because I believed it, but to deny them further satisfaction and move on.

The BWV should have been obtained; I deserved better. However, I hope it was a genuine mistake with no ill intent, in which case I acquiesce in this entire charade. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend them based on my experience.
