Delicious food here at the old royal ship. We’re staying 2 miles down the road and last minute booked in to get some food. It was an hour wait, but when the food came it was worth the wait. The portions are generous sized as well as tasted good. The staff were rushed off their feet and have high level of customer service.

What a lovely village pub.
We phoned ahead to book and to check the accessibility as one of our party was in a wheelchair. We received plenty of reassurance about the access and where best to sit.
We received a very warm welcome when we arrived and the pub had a very friendly and welcoming feel.
The service and food were excellent - a great find.
If we are in the area again, we'll definitely return.

Beautiful quaint little pub, log fires, stone walls, great decor, well presented food the chips are proper home cooked chips and staff were lovely.

The only thing I’d add is the service was a little slow but the poor girls were run off their feet so it was understandable. Would definitely go again thank you xx

I loved everything about this pub. It was a home from home. When you have to be away from home you look forward you a friendly place and the food was so nice.

Went for breakfast, able to accommodate gluten free and our dog, had the full English, all served pipping hot and freshly cooked, non of your rubbish, great bacon and sausages, though how anyone gets through the captain's version would be beyond me, very helpful from first enquiry, to booking a table, arrived to friendly attentive staff, even with the dog were seated in a lovely spot with plenty of space for him, Looking forward to returning and trying the lunch menu.

Had a tasty fish pie meal. The pub is really well kept and has a nice vibe to it. The staff were lovely. I’m really happy to have had super there.
