The grounds are extensive and beautifully maintained. The building itself is exceptional and in really good condition. There is an incredible amount of history here. Some of it is quite dark, but you have to delve a little bit deeper to discover these things.

Melford is just a little bit outside Sudbury where the famous peasant revolt ended the life of the first archbishop of Sudbury many years ago

Interesting talk from the volunteer before entering the hall. Worth a listen. Left to explore . Like the tea room seating inside. But the weather is nice to sit in today. The tea room had a nice selection of small bites. Gosh almost gone by lunch time .

Lovely guided tour around this beautiful home by an incredibly knowledgeable member of staff. The grounds and church are worth a look too! Only open a few days so need to book, definitely worth a visit. The tearoom was run by volunteers from the local WI and considering this is a private home it was great to be able to have tea, freshly made sandwiches and cake.

Had a wonderful visit to Melford Hall. The house and grounds are very well kept. Enjoyed the history talk from a knowledgeable volunteer in the hall. After the house tour we went for a lovely walk around the parklands where we encountered sheep and cows. Perfect place to spend a few hours.

A wonderful day out with family. Really enjoyed our visit. Few garden games were available to keep children happy. Beautiful house with lots of room open for visitors and amazing history. Stunning garden with beautiful flowers. Worth a visit.

While the historic architecture and well-kept gardens are pleasant, there isn’t much to see or do beyond that. The interior displays are limited, and there aren’t many interactive or engaging activities. If you’re looking for a quick visit to a stately home, it might be worth a stop, but don’t expect to spend more than an hour or two here

Beautiful gardens and a café with some good food for lunch. There were some enjoyable trails in the gardens and around the parkland. The place closes at 4:30 pm even in the summer so arrive early.

I love the house and the garden.
From all the National Trust houses, this one has lots of rooms open for visitors.

The house with the ‘open” view to the village, is amazing.
