Pleasant location, transitional phase felt.

The gardens were quite lovely in their sectioning and themes, the layout was generous for the property but not tedious. There were audio tour boxes about that gave cool information on the location. There were lovely hidden little visual gems to feast on.

But why a 4? This property is quite in the middle of changes and work - there were a couple garden sections that were dirt basically, some of the learning and fun exhibits around the barn seemed abandoned or just quiet. Near the front shop and tea room there were quite a number of bees and wasps, and they were quite aggressive as late in the season. One of the houses appears closed for some time and some areas of the first were closed off too. Finally, while some bits were very cool, alot of the rooms housed blue prints of the buildings and history, it started to feel one note.

It's a charming visit, but as I said just in the middle of things and that lack of completion was felt and detracted from the outting.

Barrington Court is a truly beautiful National Trust property, and we had a wonderful time exploring the grounds. The gardens were looking absolutely stunning in the autumn sunshine, with vibrant colors everywhere we looked. I spent quite some time just admiring the peaceful surroundings and even took numerous photos of the bees buzzing around, happily going about their business.

While the main house wasn't accessible during our visit, which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, the rest of the estate more than made up for it. The carefully tended gardens and orchards offer plenty to see and enjoy.

A special shout-out to Erica, who made our visit even more enjoyable. She drove the mobility buggy and dropped us off near the main house with a cheerful attitude and some amusing chatter, which gave the day a delightful personal touch. Her warmth and hospitality really stood out and made the day that bit more memorable.

If you're looking for a peaceful day out surrounded by history and nature, Barrington Court is definitely worth a visit, especially when the gardens are in full bloom!

Beautiful place to visit. The gardens are lovely. The main house wasn't open when we went but Strode House was. Good little cafe selling sandwiches and cakes etc. There's also some craft shops as well as a NT shop and second hand book shop but remember to bring cash for that!

Very friendly staff and guides.
A lovely place to visit for gardens and walks. Two houses at one site both unfortunately closed due to having necessary restoration, but none the less enjoyable, or informative for it!

Stunning Elizabethan 'E' plan Prodigy house with Royal Stables later restored, converted & appreciated in the roaring 1920's into an imposing residence.
Cute little thatched tearoom for light refreshments. I very much enjoyed hearing about the turbulent history.

This is a really lovely place to visit, and a lot to see. The main house wasn't open when we were there, but the other house was interesting, and the walled gardens were beautiful. Cafe was nice as well!
