I recently used My car Imports to import a car from the USA, overall I thought the process was fairly simple and pain free.

The car was picked up in the USA within a week of the booking and back in the UK within 4 weeks of purchase, the car was delivered to my door without any fuss.

DVLA registration went through ok, however there was a delay on DVLA’s end as they wanted to inspect the car.

I import items from all over the world in my day job, I found their shipping rates reasonable and the portal make it easy to keep updated on what is going on.

I would recommend using there services.

If you're in need of help with importing a vehicle, then look no further. It's not often that a service provider exceeds your every expectation, but My Car Import has done that and more.

Their service removes all of the worry and complexity for the customer, and it's seamless. Their team are extraordinarily competent, cooperative and customer focused. The entire process is handled with superb efficiency, and you're kept informed and updated throughout. The team goes above and beyond in helping to accommodate requests, and you're made to feel as though nothing is too much trouble.

These guys deal with some fabulous cars, but they treated my old Land Rover like a Ferrari.

I had had many challenges in Portugal on an import attempt and so resolved to send to the UK after having written to My Car Import. They were confident they could handle the customs and transportation as well as some of the updates required for the UK as this was a Canadian import so that adjustments like fog lights and other compliances needed doing.
For the most part the process was smooth. After many emails back and forth to Jack and his colleagues-regarding details on minor repairs and feedback - I got to collect the car in the UK.

The set up is modern and they do have a good service support from some of the mechanical / paintwork centres located in the immediate area.

I would recommend lessening some headaches and going with this outfit should you wish to import and have the process go smoothly ..

Brought my partners car back, Nissan March from Malta to Plymouth UK. Did all the paperwork etc but DVLA as per normal did their best and refused registration. At a loss I found these guys online and swiftly sent all paperwork and hey presto...DVLA registered with V5. Thank you to all the guys I dealt with at My Car Import !! I don’t always write reviews on social media, but the service from My Car Import(MCI) was excellent, I can’t thank them enough.

MCI helped to bring my Toyota Alphard from Japan to UK. The whole process was definitely stress-free and smooth. Since I didn’t have experience of importing car to UK, I was worried at the beginning and asked lots of questions. Thankfully, MCI addressed all my concerns promptly and patiently. (I am amazed by their efficiency which is not typical “UK style”, you know:p)

MCI always informed me any updates of my car and what would be the next step. All the paperwork and registration to DVLA was quick and smooth. Painless!!!

One more thing, they even recommended me a very professional bidding agent. Thanks Jack recommended Brendan for me. He helped me to find my car in Japan in a good price. I like my car and it is already perfect to me.

I have recently used My Car Import to support a STRAIGHTFORWARD import from Switzerland to the UK.
I wish I never did.
They are very fast....in taking money.
Initial communication was with some hiccups (i.e.: quotation was very high, assuming the car was picked up in Switzerland, not the case for me). After having sent all the required documents/pictures etc., I was left in the darkness for more than a month.
I came to the UK, sent several emails, no replies at all. I had to eventually call, ask for feedback, eventually i got a status, again, darkness for a while.
They were not even sure about what needed to be done to my car.
As they don't work on saturdays, I had to ask for my car to be picked up and delivered, service they offer for additional fees.
Once the car (in pristine condition) was there, inspected, the lights they were supposed to fit to my car became not available and had to buy others suddenly more expensive (cost which was not covered by the quote, which I found insulting, given the agreed price was lower, and it's not customers's responsibility to cover parts's change in price).
After these were delivered, it seemed like in the end they were not right, so new lights had to be ordered.
Eventually, it turned out no lights needed to be fitted, and simple re-wires was needed.
Car was then ready for deliver.
Up until the day of delivery, no news. Eventually, I was called, but had to explain I couldn't be available as I had meetings around the time of the delivery.
I was told this was not a problem.
Eventually, the car was delivered, keys left at the door.
Within 5 minutes time I inspected the car, with my surprise showing scratches/chips, immediately reported to MyCarImport.

Long story short, neither MyCarImport nor AMZ Autotransport (the company in charge for the car transport) took responsibility for these. Even blamed my wife who picked the keys as she should have been responsible to get there and inspect immediately, regardless the fact she simply nicely had to stop all she was doing to answer the door, instead of having AMZ waiting for me to be available.

I fortunately don't have to import any more cars to the the UK, but this review is to ensure any new customers are aware of how they manage their business.

Also, I really hope paperwork are correct, because then I'm really worried about what could happen as I'm already sure they won't take responsibility for any mistakes done.

I contacted My Car Import after researching online and reading some of these reviews. Was looking to move back from Hong Kong to UK and bring my car with me as I did a lot of modifications, and maintenance plus the KM are low compared to UK cars. Will, Phil, and Alex have been great through the whole process of initial discussions, answering my many questions, and guiding me through the process. As part of the UK's transfer or residence TOR scheme, you can import your own vehicle tax free which was another incentive to bring my cherished car back with me. MCI were always professional, knowledgable and have been established for many years doing this service all over the world. I chose to drive up to Castle D to collect my car once it was ready, and it was a smooth process from pick up in Hong Kong, to collection in UK. Thank you to the team, and wish you all the best.
