As a first time buyer, me and my partner were informed about Wheelers and how good a service they were so we thought that this was the place that would help us through our first time purchase of a house.

We should have done more research before continuing on with their (awful) service.

There were so many problems with this company but, our biggest one (even our mortgage lender agreed was wrong) was the fact that we started paying for a house that we weren't living in for the first four days.

Do not use this company.

After we sold our last house with a conveyancer that came as part of a deal from our estate agent, I can say that that was a false economy. Actually having an office close to hand to drop into and real named people to talk to and answer your questions is worth a lot, and the service from Wheelers cost about the same price as the online conveyancers that our estate agents for the purchase pushed us towards.
We used Wheelers to purchase a house that completed in Sept 2018 and picked them because they asked a lot of thorough questions for the sale of our previous house - they certainly met our expectations! The purchase was complicated, but Caroline, Laura and Kelly made their way through the difficult land registry queries and kept us informed every step of the way. They caught the omissions of the sellers solicitors and persisted in getting answers to all of the questions raised, all for fixed price fee.
I have no hesitation in recommending them for a house purchase to anyone and if I ever get over this move I would happily use them again.

We instructed Wheeler's as our conveyancer and were very happy with the service we received. We had the option of using an online conveyancer but chose to use a local solicitors which was the right decision as it makes providing documentation much easier. In our case Wheeler's were very professional and Caroline always responded quickly to any queries we had. The whole process felt very smooth and I would recommend Wheeler's to anyone moving house in the area.

Having used Wheelers to for conveyancing on at least 8 previous occasions over the past 8 or 9 years and been very pleased with their professional service, I was extremely disappointed to find that after our latest sale fell through when the buyer pulled out within 3 weeks of instruction, I was charged £495 of the £500 upfront payment for 'works carried out in your abortive sale'. There was no breakdown of 'works' on the statement, just a seemimgly arbitrary cost of £400 + VAT plus £15 for disbursements. I shall sadly be looking elsewhere for future conveyancing of our holiday rental and buy to let portfolio.
