I recently engaged the services of Karen, a solicitor, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. I feel compelled to share my feedback based on several key issues I encountered.

Firstly, communication with Karen was consistently problematic. She rarely answered phone calls directly, requiring me to leave messages and wait for responses. Her replies to emails were not timely, which added unnecessary stress to an already challenging situation. Effective and prompt communication is crucial in legal matters, and this was sorely lacking.

Moreover, I found Karen to be lacking in empathy. Her primary focus seemed to be on payment rather than providing the necessary support and guidance. She frequently pushed for opening new cases, which appeared to be a tactic to increase her fees rather than a genuine need for my legal situation. Her approach of “if you don’t ask, you don’t get, let’s ask the court” felt more like a strategy to inflate costs than to achieve the best outcome.

Karen’s professionalism was also questionable. I found her manner of dress and the way she spoke to the judge to be disrespectful. Her rapid speech made it difficult to understand her on the phone, which was frustrating and unhelpful.

Due to these issues, I eventually decided to represent myself and was successful in my case. I found that with the help of AI resources, I did not need Karen’s letters or statements. Throughout the process, it felt as though Karen was not fully concentrated on my case, which was disappointing.

In summary, my experience with Karen was unsatisfactory due to poor communication, a lack of empathy, questionable professionalism, and an apparent focus on increasing fees rather than providing effective legal support. I hope this feedback can help others in making a more informed decision when selecting legal representation.

Instructed Karen 2 years ago to resolve my litigation matter which she described as straightforward. Her negligence led to my case ending up in High Court and my accounts being frozen for 1.5 years unnecessarily.

Karen is always on annual leave and never responds unless she needs more fees on account to trap you in. She blames everyone else but herself, misses deadlines which can and had a detrimental effect on my case.

Her tactic was to quickly get me to put fees on account before I change solicitors and threaten me by falsely claiming over a phone call that I will go to jail if she stops representing me for something I had clear evidence of being innocent. Having spoken to other solicitors, it was clear that you do not go jail for a civil matter! I feel with the evidence that I had to show my innocence. It felt like to me a plan to incorrectly manage my case to receive a regular income from my fees that would have averaged out to be a very good salary for someone who doesn’t do any work and requires spoon feeding.

As a result, I had to settle to avoid waiting another 2 years for my case to be heard. Karen’s negligence cost me over £50k including Karen’s fees and settling for something that shouldn’t have went to High Court if it wasn’t for her negligence. As soon as I wrote the settlement telling the claimant I will change my legal team which I had ready as Karen was having a very negative impact on my mental health, the claimant accepted settlement.

Now Karen is trying to claim £5k from me for closing my case when I wrote my own settlement and all she did was attach her header on the letter and send it out.

Morally this experience is so negative that I don’t want anyone else to get trapped into using her as a solicitor, with all my evidence I have no instructed new solicitors to pursue her for negligence as I have enough evidence to do so.

Please do not be fooled by the positive feedback on google, as I’ve noticed one from someone I assume can’t use a computer!

I’m still shocked Karen charged me for draft letter revisions when I noticed spelling errors from letters she wrote.

There is so much that went wrong I simply can’t type on her, as I need to be careful of how much I expose before she is taken to court.

I just hope you are careful when choosing a solicitor..

Despite several calls, left messages, and promised return phone calls over a many number of weeks, this company does not value your call as per their voicemail. You have no idea the impact ignorance has on mental health when reaching out to a solicitor. Do not use. Common courtesy costs nothing.
