Fantastic service by Melbourn Flooring and a huge selection of excellent carpets to choose from.
I cannot fault the service we received, from Ian coming to measure for the quote, which was sent quickly and was very competitive. To Mark coming and laying the carpets in our home office, stairs and landing. Very efficient and the carpet looks so much better than I had wished for. Great job, great service, excellent business.

Please please please think before going with Melbourn flooring. I am left with bumpy, uneven floor and they are refusing to rectify.
See photos attached. They tried to blame the developers but I have had 3 separate opinions from professional floor fitters who have quite bluntly said to me this doesn’t even look like any smoothing compound was laid. They tried to blame it on “suitable compound” and that it doesn’t clear all imperfections but you can see the photos for yourself
Do not waste a penny on this company, I am having to have my whole floor re done and I am devastated.

Not to mention regardless of the bumpy floor, they already had to relay most of it again as Richard the original floor fitter did a terrible job which the owner David did actually admit. Viv told me I had an endless list of problems. But can you imagine the frustration moving into a new house and there being so many issues with the flooring. Totally unprofessional and disregarding the fact the flooring was just poorly laid from day 1.

If this review does anything I hope it makes you choose a company with better reviews!!

I am editing my review as Melbourn flooring are still delusional to the fact that this is a terrible attempt at prepping and laying flooring. As mentioned i am now having to rectify this elsewhere and every floor fitter who has seen this has either laughed or apologised that i have had to experience this.

Viv and David WERE, the keyword is WERE, super helpful when they realised that Richard the flooring fitter messed up and did a lousy job. Then, when i repeatedly had to bring up other issues i.e. the flooring starting to lift in areas that David had redone or cut and stick job attempts from Richard, it was clear they lost their nice touch. I understand it was frustrating for them but it was even more frustrating for me. They were super kind at first but dropped the act very quickly. The bottom line is they didn't want to rectify the entire floor because it was too much hard work. Viv was condescending to my complaints and almost made it out as if i was causing a fuss. So to not make myself feel crazy i will attach some more photos and videos as this has had 1,000 views and i hope any of the thousand take my review seriously.

I am absolutely delighted with my new flooring.
I didn’t really have a clue what I was wanting, but they were more than helpful explaining all options to me.
I would highly recommend, friendly service and they really go the extra mile to make sure you get what you want.

The floor fitter was extremely unprofessional and done an awful job on the flooring. Mike and Richard told us that they didn’t see an issue until David came out and agreed that this was one of the worst laid floorings he had come across. David agreed to relay the flooring but the damage was already done as the floor fitter did not prep the floor properly so David faced issues relaying this.

I am not sure who works in the back office but I have never come across someone so rude and patronising. The lady only wanted to communicate via text (as emails were down) and didn’t want a phone call. She was constantly trying to put the blame on us for the issue when all we wanted was the floor to be rectified.

The end result was that Melbourne flooring agreed that we did not need to pay the remaining balance for the flooring and that we should pay someone else to rectify their mistake. You would think someone proud of their business would rectify any issues/mistakes made. They did not suggest they would fix the flooring or uneven prep work and we have a text from David on 6th March stating that “the only way to resolve the issue with the uneven floor is to start again. I suggest you use the money you are not paying to us to get someone else to carry out the work”. This totally disregarded how distressing this is to know you will need to have your whole flooring ripped up again. To be told this by someone who came, saw and agreed with how badly this was laid is extremely concerning.

We are now left with a bumpy, uneven and bobbly downstairs floor. We have had 3 other professional floor fitters review this work and they are completely shocked at how a company would be happy having their name associated with this type of work.

I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.

We recently had an oak hardwood flooring fitted to a large open plan area. We are delighted with the floor and the finish. The fitters worked very hard, were friendly and very respectful of our house.

Lovely carpet purchased and was very easy to do so. Not long after having it fitted we had to call as it hadn't been glued properly to the stairs and was completely coming away, we were told it was something to do with the temperature changing although it did just seem not enough glue was used. Was easily fixed. A few months later and it's completely lifted from the door bar. Its a Shame because I would have used them again but the fitting has ruined the experience for me.

Very happy with stairs and landing carpet. Price was in line with what I had roughly calculated (rather than a TAPI quote which went up by £300 after the house visit) and just a very nice bunch of people to work with. And no paying the fitter cash myself on the day (why do the bigger companies do that?), all done through Melbourn Flooring as you'd expect.

Had both LVT flooring and carpets fitted. Very helpful staff and experience from the begging and very reasonable price with no pushy sales pitches. The fitters who came were polite, helpful and efficient and did a great job. Would highly recommend.
