My house is in an estate which is ‘maintained’ by this company. I initially queried the state of the landscaping on the estate back in May 2023. I was told the regional manager Ray had been and viewed the area and reported some work needed doing to the outside area of my property.

In Feb 2024 I emailed again as the state of the landscaping wasn’t much better and the bushes that had been planted were wonky, dead or had been mowed over when cutting the grass. I was told in March of 2024, Ray was getting the shrubs replanted by May this still hadn’t been done and I was left chasing the work to be completed. I was told that the ‘planting season had ended’ and the work had be forgotten about so had to wait now till Oct/Nov for the planting season to be done again by Emlyn.

Going to August 2024 I asked for this to be chased as Emlyn said she would make a note in her diary for the work to be completed. I asked for the companies complaints procedure and was ignored.

Feb 2025 and the work still hasn’t been completed and I’m now sure that I have missed the Oct/Nov planting season too. I have again emailed to chase the work and ask for a formal complaints procedure and again have been ignored to what the formal complaints procedure is. So have asked for a 3rd time.

Our estate is overrun with weeds, long grass and looks appalling. It is an eyesore whenever you step out of your front door and Meadfleet are very rarely seen. £200 a year per household x 300+ homes on the estate = £60,000. This level of service needs to be investigated.

This company are supposed to maintain our estate and sent me a lovely glossy brochure telling me how great they are presumably to justify payment for the upkeep of the estate.
I live on the Paddocks estate in Wickersley in Rotherham.
I emailed my concerns in April regarding work carried out where they killed all the grass surrounding some gym equipment.
They responded that Ray, the regional manager would keep an eye on it and let it grow back to a certain level.
Since then nothing has changed.
The grass is still dead and the whole area is full of weeds.
I have emailed them again today so hopefully Ray might actually do something about the problem.

If your buying a new build check they don’t have a contract with Meadfleet for the maintenance, the first few years they cut the grass as agreed then all of a sudden they leave it to become a meadow (overgrown weeds) with out consulting anyone or considering what the people who live here use the land for. The land was used by children on the estate and now can’t be used by anyone. There is 120 houses on the estate paying £10 per month each, however Meadfleet only spend 3 hours cutting around the edge, when you ask for a breakdown of costs they state biodiversity as the reason and swerve the request.
The area is an absolute eye sore and such a waste of space that we pay to maintain but can’t use.
They must be making a fortune for doing nothing at all, and this is a contract we can’t seem to get out of!

Awful company. Take our money but not sure what they actually do? Said in our contracts they have money set aside for big repairs (eg fences) but estate has recently been billed over 6 grand for a new fence - supposedly 52 new fence posts were put in however they admitted only 30 initially done. Who knows if / when we will get the rest and while we wait for those, 2 other sections of fence have blown down which no doubt we will have to pay for. I think we pay around £90 every 3 months for basically some grass cutting in the summer. When there's over 400 houses on our estate, that's expensive grass cutting! This is the queensgate estate in Stockton in case customer care aren't sure (but I reckon you are very aware of our issues!). Also, Worrying that overhead fees are more than maintenance fees
