Absolutely awful. No one in their right mind would appoint these people. The problem is that you might not have a choice! My mortgage lender had them so I was in the terrible position of paying their fees while suffering their appalling service. They were unresponsive throughout the process and basically ignored my solicitor until the last minute. We got all our documents over to them and they didn't even acknowledge, let alone look at them. they then made loads of unnecessary demands at the last minute. They knew we were on deadline and basically gave us no choice but to take out various insurance policies at a significant cost. Their attitude made everything even worse. I am still suffering as a result.

These conveyancers are acting on behalf of my buyers and after nearly 6 months, the sale has still not completed. At the time of writing, they have delayed planned exchange and completion dates no less than 6 times due to various oversights and 'missing' documents and signatures. This has incurred significant daily interest charges on the mortgage. My solicitor has been unable to contact them by phone for the past couple of days and is finding it equally frustrating as they rarely respond to emails either. I am told that the buyers have also been very unhappy with Lightfoots and at one point were unable to contact them for nearly 2 weeks. Completely incompetent it seems. DO NOT USE.

UPDATE Another day gone buy and still my solicitor and estate agent are unable to make contact with Lightfoots. It's interesting to note how quickly they responded to this review but how difficult it is to get a response to any legal issues. I cannot stress enough how poor their service is. My solicitor, agent and buyers are exasperated. AVOID.

I was excited over my purchase, as one of many buy to let property. I thought if I pay more like £2000, they must be super good, fast, responsive and reliable but turned out I have to chase every single week since past 4 month. If I call or email either I would be ignored or would get a response following week. I think big firms like lightfoot have to much work, that's why they can afford to do this. Just hope they finish my work or I might have to transfer everything to different firm.

So disappointed with Service we got from Lightfoot Solicitor.we had Bridging loan case and they couldn't completed it by the dateline and been invoiced £2800.
There is No communication,No answering calls or clear explanation untill last day before the dateline .

As another reviewer said, a tortuous experience from start to finish. You will only deal with an administrator, not a conveyancer or solicitor. They aren't able to put together a simple list of what's required, and keep coming back like Colombo for 'just one more thing'. In trying to sort out a loan which was for international transfer, I lost about $50k in exchange rates while they stuffed about for months. Under no circumstances would I recommend this firm. Do not use them.
