Lewis and his team provided a wonderful and outstanding service to me and my family when we lost my wife. Lewis was compassionate, professional and dedicated to ensure that the service provided was exactly right for our needs.
Unusually Lewis meet with me and my wife before she died to plan her funeral in careful detail. She appreciated a great deal. The ability to clearly follow my wife`s wishes now comforts me and my children after her death. The skill of Lewis and his team and their commitment showed throughout was genuine and exemplary.
I have arranged a number of funerals with different directors and I recommend this service very highly indeed.

Having just lost my son to suicide Lewis handled all the arrangements with kindness, compassion and respect. The service ran like clockwork and his attention to detail was first class, no funeral is nice but he ensured my precious son’s final journey and service were a perfect memorial. Following the passing of my relative we identified that unfortunately a funeral was not paid for, I called local funeral directors to see if there was any plans/any pre paid funerals set up and after approaching this company, the lovely lady Vanessa went above and beyond to help me. She did not have to speak with other third parties to help identify whether something was in place but she did and we are so grateful for her efforts in helping us navigate through this difficult time. We have not booked anything with them due to the circumstances however I can wholeheartedly say that if this is the effort they would go to to help some random member of the public then I can only imagine how they would be with your loved ones. They’re fantastic and deserve the recognition even when it’s doing something they’re not paid for. Thank you so so much Vanessa you’ve made something incredibly stressful into something a bit more manageable. 💜

Impeccable service!
I wanted to wait to post my feedback as I wanted to do it with reflection.
It has been over a year now since Lewis and his team cared for the funeral of my father, Len King. Nothing was too complex, and my mind was put at ease at our first appointment with Lewis. The request for the Flying Scotsman and hymn music score transfers on either side of his coffin, to the complex need of the two funeral services; one they carried out in Beverley and then, working alongside the directors in Suffolk, the other to my father’s hometown in Sudbury (just under 400 miles round trip). Their professionalism throughout was, as I started with, impeccable. The care and respect shown to my father was over and above my expectations and the attention to detail was handed with such care, including my father’s Braille copy of St John’s gospel being placed in his hands as if reading, such detail.
I can only say again………. thank you, thank you, thank you.

I first heard about Lewis Northen Funeral Services a couple of years ago and learning that he was an independent funeral director really appealed, the fact that he was from Beverley was even better. Sadly my sister and I lost our Mum a little while ago, I suggested Lewis to my family. Completely the right decision. Lewis and his colleagues took great care of Mum and us as a family. At a time when emotions are running high and thought processes diminished by grief, it was an enormous comfort to leave the entire difficult process to Lewis, Vanessa and their team. From the very outset they were model professionals handling endless queries with calmness and real empathy. Mum’s funeral was exactly what she wanted. My family are very grateful for the wonderful care she received.
This is a young business but please be assured they are at the top of their game.
