Popped into get my hair tidied up. Wasn't a long wait and the lady who did my hair was very professional and did an amazing job
Plenty of parking available due it to being located in the asda complex
Place does look like it could do with a refurb but alas I didn't go there to admire the walls

Love this hair establishment. Affordable prices, super friendly staff. You do wait most times but they are all so efficient it’s worth it. Have been going to them for years

Gone downhill at all the KM Salons in derby. I personally had stopped going after my experience with a "30 years experience" hairdresser who was so experienced she decided to completely ignore what I asked for and gave me an uneven shoulder length cut when I asked for a bob (apparently it wouldn't suit me and "would make my face look fat", plus she was annoyed that she was 10mins late on her lunch so rushed it) I went back and complained for her to cut it shorter and moan at me for complaining. My response being I am well aware what hair styles suit me and surely it's down to me either way.
The second bad experience for me came when I was desperate for a trim and to get my layers back in and was in a hurry. Naturally I was apprehensive about using the salon but had no option so went into the spot. The girl who did my hair cut one section, BLOW DRIED THAT SECTION then used the dried section to measure the next WET section. Anyone who has done hairdressing knows the hair is shorter when dried so as you can imagine my hair was horrendously off balance and had whole sections out of line. I didn't even bother complaining and instead went to another salon vowing to never return to KM.
So the final nail in the coffin came today. My daughter had really long hair that was getting easily tangled and frizzy from her being too hot and from sleeping on it and she was quite against it being brushed so I decided she needed a cut. I didn't mind using KM in sinfin as they have cut her hair before and it has been OK. So I took her straight after school as had been advised the latest really to get her in was 3:30 and with the weather scheduled to be scorching I was keen for her to have it cut today.
I arrived with my daughter who had her hair in a bun, so it was messy already as she was sweaty and hot. She was invited over to the chair and the woman took one look at her hair and point blank refused to cut it. Why? Because apparently it was dreadlocked. Yeah that's right, DREADLOCKED! Now for those who are unaware, for hair to reach a point where it has become dreads it has to have been unbrushed and neglected for WEEKS. My daughter brushes her hair every morning. The area that she was claiming was dreadlocked was where she had done her hair in a bun, and it was tangled and frizzy so matted a little. Nothing that a little de tangling spray and a brush could sort out. I explained that was the reason it needed a cut. She replied LOUDLY and very VERY rudely "this hair hasn't seen a brush for a long time" to which I protested telling her it is brushed every morning. She disagreed and said no way. By this point everyone in the salon was staring at me and my child making both of us feel very uncomfortable.
It's worth noting at this point that not long after we had arrived, a regular client of the woman doing my daughters hair (or refusing as the case was) arrived and was greeted warmly and told it wouldn't be too long. And after I got my daughter home and simply ran the brush through her hair and gave it a wash to get the sweatiness out (surprise surprise all the tangles came out with no difficulty, including the "dreadlocked" hair) it seemed clear to me that the woman had favoured her regular client rather than my daughter for the sake of getting a few extra quid.
Needless to say I took my daughter to my regular and very very good hair salon (further away) where she was treated like a princess, pampered and given a beautiful hair cut along with some princess curls and a free drink and snack. For the same price it would have cost me at KM sinfin.
No issues with doing the hair even despite it being tangled again by the time we got there from it being a hot day. And a very shocked and confused expression when I told them what KM hairdresser had said along with a few questions about whether she knew what she was talking about or was it just the fact that she was too lazy to do her job.
Also needless to say none of my family will be using KM salon again. Rude, unprofessional and uncaring people who make you feel small and an inconvenience.

Arrived 1.5h before closing for a trim- shoulder length hair. There was no one waiting, 2 hairdressers, one was trimming, other was returning from shop. What is the point being open until 6 if you won’t do any work after 4:30.
Just disappointed.

Sinfin - Told 45min wait. Went back and was told an hour wait. Ridiculous. Walk in only but at a small salon there should be an option to book in. I also tried to get my hair cut on Friday afternoon but they didn't have enough time before closing. They also told me it'd be a 45min wait.

I have been twice to the one at the spot ,only one ladies hair dresser told it would be 45 minutes so I said OK 1 hour and a half later the receptionist went up to him asked how much longer to which his reply was I'm done when I'm done. I thanked the receptionist and walked out for the second time. Went to sinfin and there was only one hair dresser and a hour and a half wait.?

Very friendly staff, guy who worked on my hair did a good job, the only thing which made me drop 1 star was the speed, he was efficient and fast, but a day or so after I notice like 1 very small tuft of hair not cut as short the rest, something I can snip off myself and it wasn't noticeable/ didn't stand out without me combing my hair up.
I usually go to another hairdresser which is a little more expensive then this one. I had trouble finding prices online, went in for a dry men's haircut though, I was told it can cost up to £12 at the desk (depending on what I wanted) but for what I needed it only cost me £10; both prices were cheaper then where I went to before, plus I don't need to drive to this one!
Very likely will return, I didn't mind the slight rush to get my cut done, it wasn't very busy but being able to just go in without appointment made it relaxing, granted this is my first go and will probably need to return in around 3 months, maybe the experience will be different.
Was nervous at first trying a different barber/hairdresser since I was too used to the routine at my old one who knew what I want. Again friendly staff, nice older guy cutting my hair, understood what I wanted and didn't destroy my hair (just left one tiny spot undercut), and didn't spend too long cutting my hair (which is both positive and slightly negative). Definitely better then what I could manage during lockdown last year or so.
Edit: Just to add that I've been a few times now and the quality for sure is consistent. I prefer it to the hairdresser I used to go to.
