I'm disappointed with KJ Smith. I worked with one solicitor on preparing one document for my divorce that I filed myself. I was given a price for this which I agreed to. After their job was complete I was told the solicitor had left the firm and and was given an invoice for a higher amount. I felt really misled, and for the price they are now chasing me to pay, I could have had any number of firms file the whole petition for me, not just prepare one document! Dishonest business practice...

Just wanted to thank KJ Smith for being superb practice. What attracted me to this legal firm and especially Mrs Laura Gusatu was, that she took my request seriously and replied to me in 12 hours due to the nature of my case. Bear in mind, that she spent hours explaining to me in detail and advising me how to proceed with no charges it was all free. Mrs Laura gave me legal advice related to my query. Not the least, she was empathetic, showing her respect and consideration for me as a human being which makes such a difference to know someone is genuine and unbelievably supportive.
Mrs Laura Gusatu answered all my questions promptly and fully either by email or on the phone, she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, with a very kind and understanding nature that helped no end through what was a stressful time. I would highly recommend the company KJ Smith and Laura Gusatu in particular, she made everything easier in a very human way.

I found K J Smith Solicitors via the Citizens Advice Bureau, then subsequently, Matthew Thom was my solicitor for my divorce. Matthew was always very professional, supportive and quick in his responses to my many questions. I was always advised where we were in the process, which was quite lengthly due to covid and lockdown, but that was no fault of K J Smith Solicitors, just unfortunate timing on my part! It is very hard to remain unemotional during a divorce, but Matthew always provided solid advice, and was sympathetic to how I felt at the same time. Would highly recommend.
