Wouldn't even give them 1 star.

No communication for a month, when they did communicate two days before first hearing, they told me aload of rubbish "don't worry about it get some sleep".

Got to court and met "an agent" that they use, she threw a load of rubbish at me (which contradicted the last call to levins) as I had anticipated the police would- I am adamant she works for the police.

She told me she can't defend me on the basis which I put to her and so a guilty plea was entered. She obtained evidence which I supplied her with, levins didn't provide her with any defensive evidence that I had given to their receptionist.

Raised a complaint where the "agent" has then lied to them and says she told me that she could base a defence on my argument against the police.

I called them numerous times between the arrest and court date to no avail. Received an email from Joe, tried to get in touch after that email to be told "oh he is off today", "no solicitor is available", nearly every day.

Now guilty on something that I am not guilty of due to their incompetence.

Useless. Not bothered about making a defence for you. Avoid these.

After back and forth emails and phone calls and lots of delays they told me they had no capacity after 4 weeks of trying to arrange an appointment with a solicitor when my hearing was urgent. Don't bother with Levins Solicitors if you are looking for a solicitor go elsewhere. I feel they are dishonest and are not willing to help.

EDIT: because you have responded to my review of your service. I was looking for other solicitors of course I'm not going to just rely on one and hope for the best because not everyone will take on a case etc. But it was a long winded process with your firm when you could have told me a month ago that you don't have capacity to take on cases etc instead you tell me you want to speak to my former solicitor first and then make a decision whether to take it on or not and whether my former solicitor could transfer legal aid, which they could and I spoke to them on the phone and said they were more than happy to send it to you just for you to turn around and say we actually don't have capacity now after all this time it just seems odd and that's why I thought you were dishonest, hope you can understand that now. I'm not asking for an apology I'm just saying in the future if someone asks you for help please be upfront with them and say you don't have the capacity instead of going through the motions with them. Thanks.

Would like to give 2.5 stars ..my honest experience of dealing with levins on my sons behalf..
Pro's and con's
Pro's 1 for representation at the crown court they procured the services of a very good , sympathetic barrister
Pro's 2 apparently the legal aid process was easy , so easy that my son was able to deal with it without getting stressed out,
Now for the cons -
1 as in previous reviews communication is pot luck .I realise of course its not always possible to answer calls or e-mails the same day but when you leave messages and don't get a reply, not told until the day before who will be representing at magistrates court. They must have thought I was a nuisance for requesting basic information. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I think it's rude to ignore customers/clients.
2 at an interview at lèvins office with the fee earner ( I had to chase them up to arrange this ) we were shown into a office/stationery store room with 3 desks. Clients files scattered all around the floor and piled up on one adjoining desk .on top of these files clients letters were resting face up.the fee earner left the room to get a medical authorisation form , had I been a nosey person I could have picked up and read any of these letters. Oh also "well I don't know why you haven't got one these forms as we Definitely posted it out !"
Well obviously we didn't get it otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned it... ?
3 same fee earner asked me in a email what diagnosed mental condition my son had..I thought this was sarcastic as it was already established at the interview he is on a nhs waiting list for an aspergers diagnosis. Believe me sarcasm at that stage was the last thing I needed.
4 minor gripe ,please remember to leave an out of office message on your email account when you go on holiday when I didn't get a reply for a week I assumed another example of bad communication from lèvins !
When I was working not leaving a out of office message was a capital offence !
