My experience of dealing with Jonathan Field from Johnson and Boon Solicitors, Upton, Wirral provided me with immediate evidence that not all Solicitors are the same. A prior solicitor had left me with no confidence in the legal system as I lost my first possession order court case, and out of pocket because of his incompetence.
It was clear from my very first consultation over Zoom that Jonathan was an expert in the area of advice required. He listened attentively to my situation and concerns and then followed this up with advice that was clear, concise and professional.
He explained why my previous advice and actions linked to it were not appropriate and had been unsuccessful, what alternative actions I should consider and what he would do to assist with the process.
In all of my dealings, I had replies to all communication with timely efficiency and was always left feeling informed, updated with the progress being made and what further steps to undertake and expect.
At the court hearing I was only expecting a possession order to be granted. Instead I was flabbergasted and elated to hear the Judge grant me all rent arrears, court costs and the rent to accrue at a daily rate until the tenant had vacated my property. It was a victorious moment and I couldn’t sing praises for Jonathan highly enough.
My only regret is not using Jonathan right from the beginning as he would have saved me a lot of unnecessary stress. Any landlord requiring legal advice relating to a tenancy situation should contact Johnson and Boon Solicitors and ask for Jonathan Field as his expertise and professionalism is exceptional.

If you need something small, like a tenancy deposit, I'm sure they're great at handling that. However, they don't have the capability to take on big tasks such as leases - which is sadly what I instructed them for.

As another review says - they'll reply within hours to get you as a client and have you pay. However, once they've been paid you'll seldom hear from them. You could ask Rob Boon something as simple as what his name is and he'd take 11 days to reply to you.

Not only was the communication horrifically slow, the level of work is to match. A simple report on a 20 page lease, which could be done in a matter of hours. Took over a month. Property searches took even longer. They put the property deal in jeopardy due to rising tensions from the other side and the amount of time they had to wait to Johnson and Boon to report back.

I made an official complaint which was promptly waved away with excuses and I was eventually passed off to a junior solicitor as Rob ultimately didn't want to be held accountable.

I would not recommend working with this firm at all. So much so I went to the Legal Ombudsmen who accepted my case.

I found this firm through The Law Superstore where the reviews are favourable, do not make the same mistake I did.
