Made an enquiry with them for conveyancing. Received a very unapologetic and abrupt email from Sarah saying that they wouldn’t do the work. Won’t be recommending them and it would seem that from some of the reviews on here that I might have dodged a bullet!

If I could leave a zero-star rating, I most certainly would. I strongly do not recommend this firm to anyone, particularly for buying or selling a house. The poor service and lack of proactive progress, especially from Barbara, have been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Our experience has been nothing short of unacceptable.
Our emails and questions often go unanswered, and we're constantly given false promises followed by vague information or updates. This experience has been frustrating and unprofessional.

The Fawlty Towers of property solicitors. We had the misfortune to sell a property to buyers who used this company. We were told it would take 6 weeks, it took 5 months and 1 week to sell a flat! They sent out enquiries to the property management company and didn't follow them up for over a month. Every time they requested information we followed up the next day to hear "I've not had a chance to look at my mailbox yet". Every interaction just seemed like too much trouble for them, just like a female Basil Fawlty. Avoid!

Double standards, i would never recommend them to anyone, if i could leave a zero i would, i sold my land to people who use this company i had 6 weeks to move my pony's, but was told to leave 4 weeks, i found i had no support of this company who was being paid to do a job,

Absolutely outstanding. We were on a very tight deadline, Barbara and her team were fantastic. I can not recommend them enough. They were so patient, kind and professional throughout. Any questions we had they were always so quick to answer. Buying a house in such a short amount of time was challenging but Barbara did it. Thank you.

When it came to buying my first home, I was told many times by friends and family that the worst part of the entire process is solicitors. A friend of mine who has worked in property made a recommendation for Holley and Steer and my experience has been above and beyond what I expected, most significantly the speed that my queries are dealt with. From what I've been told, this level of service is unheard of. Buying a home is one of the most stressful things you'll ever do, and a lot of it is beyond our control, but hiring an excellent solicitor is something you do get to decide. Have recommended Holley and Steer to friends multiple times.
