I have been a loyal customer of Hathaways since 1988 when they did my very first conveyancy on a property (they were Osterman Mitchell then) and I’ve never gone anywhere else and recommended them to others. They changed to Hathaways and I stayed with them as they had the personal touch and didn’t take your eyes out for small requests. I saw recently that they had changed hands and had a feeling the personal touch would be gone and replaced by money orientated individuals and after a chat this morning about a small change to my will, my fears were confirmed. Never again will I give any of my business to this firm. I’m just sorry this reflects so badly on what was once a firm it was pleasure to do business with.

Awful experience. Got appointments same same to sign papers for marriage abroad paid for signatures . A problem occurred with our forms and solicitor ignored all our calls for 6 weeks. Infact still hasnt replied to me. Called office 4 times a day of course she was never. Heres a tip take ya money else were. Customer service appalling

Rang up and asked is Shaun was available to get a response from a trainee that he retired dug futhrt into my contacts rang hue and he told me he has not retired used hatherways for years when Shaun was there my recommendation is to use Meikles solicitors if you need Shaun if I could give 0 star I would

My son was denied legal aid denied a payment plan, so therefore had to pay upfront everytime they represented us, now the case is over by a good while they have billed him for over another 2k

I am deeply disappointed and profoundly upset with the services provided by Hathaways Solicitors regarding my medical negligence claim. Initially, their approach appeared professional and reassuring, but this facade quickly deteriorated, revealing a starkly different reality. The level of communication I experienced was abysmally inadequate. Despite my persistent efforts to reach out and leave countless messages, the promises of return calls remained unfulfilled.

My case has languished under their care for over two and a half years, only to reach an insurmountable impasse due to issues with my GP's insurance company. To add insult to injury, their recommendation for me to seek assistance from a firm better equipped to handle my claim has proven futile, as the nearing statute of limitations effectively bars me from pursuing justice.

This situation is not only frustrating but deeply concerning, as it demonstrates a significant lack of competence and consideration for the client's time and well-being. Hathaways Solicitors' handling of my case has been nothing short of negligent, leaving me in a precarious position with no recourse for the harm I have suffered. I strongly advise against engaging with this firm, as their inability to effectively manage crucial legal matters can result in significant personal detriment.

USE ANOTHER FIRM I waited a week for an appointment, took time off work then they cancelled on me 3 hours before the appointment time , what a disgrace, where has customer service gone ? USE ANOTHER FIRM there are plenty in Gateshead
