Horror Show

It tries to look like it’s all classy and it’s been there since 1652 or something but really it’s a run down gloomy looking place full of fake old books , I found the lawyer assigned to be passive aggressive unhelpful and she made excuses about not wanting to do the job we asked them to do , and to avoid doing the job they recommended we went to another local solicitors which I did and found them charming and friendly the exact opposite , But I found Harris and Harris dated with a stuffy passive aggressive pompous attitude to doing their job they make simple things twice as awkward as they should be , Showing no insight at all into situations they are presented with I found my Solicitor was completely out of her depth and failed to maintain a friendly relationship with other family members and failing to understand the situation and never replied to the calls made to her secretary and never contacted us for over a month , I was left with the impression whatever standards Harris and Harris had aspired to in the past had now dropped dramatically with clueless staff and terrible communication which eventually resulted in total frustration , Rather than a modern professional organisation I found it to be gloomy depressing dated run down and disorganised and even though I can’t speak for all the staff the people I dealt with at best were lost at worst showed a passive aggressive attitude and a lack of tact and clarity and urgency mainly from the assigned solicitor, They also showed a lack of respect for the situation I was dealing with at the time, Looking at some negative reviews it seems they can’t even except criticism which confirms my points about the passive aggressive attitude of certain people in this company. The only really friendly person I spoke too was one of secretaries but even she found it impossible to get hold of the solicitor 90% of the time I was fogged off . My questions and concerns unanswered.

Acting on behalf of my buyer coming from a mortgage advisor's recommendation. You would think they know each other's procedure but common sense is a swear word in this case. H&H came up with ridiculous reasons to buy some time while a certain person is on holiday, some other papers have been outstanding for weeks they are just simply not bothered to do their job. I fully agree with the comment that critized them for being slow. It is very true. In my case 3-4 weeks wasted. If I could I would give a big fat zero for attitude, proficiency and customer service.

Unfortunately Harris & Harris have left possibly the worst impression a solicitor could leave.

I''ve been a property developer for 10 years now and typically a good solicitor can complete a house sale within about 4 working weeks and if there's a delay they'll communicate with you.

Harris and Harris took 4 Months and they do not communicate with you, your estate agent or acting solicitor.

They ask for documents ie a PRC Certificate (which after 12 years has no validity anyway) in the 4th month when really the inquiry should be raised within the first 2 weeks. This led to the price increasing by £1000 for their client.

To get any update, I had to phone them directly and use a tone of voice you'd use to tell your dog off!

Which I will admit is inappropriate but strangely afterwards a pile of paperwork arrived at my solicitors the very next working day.

I found them to be unprofessional, unnecessarily stressful, and just totally 100% useless!

Refreshing approach. Traditional feel ( they haven't renamed themseleves to sound like a TV series - such as Harris Law...), but they still came across as alert and ready to act - unlike some of the older firms one might name.
