Having used this garage for 6 years to service my car I can categorically say I will never go near the place again. In short they’re fine if everything goes smoothly but woe betide you if there’s something they can’t fix on the day of service. At this point you move to bottom of the pecking order and everyone else’s vehicle becomes more important than yours. The front of house team has also changed which is such a shame I’ve previously been very impressed but wow what a change. Back to the bad old days of sharp intakes of breath and making out simple jobs are incredibly complex which I really thought garages had evolved beyond. The whole experience was shocking - like they were doing you a massive favour by performing the work you’re paying for. At the end of this I didn’t get any verbal summary of the work done, no summary of any issues found during the service just my key pushed begrudgingly across the desk at me.
If you can go elsewhere definitely do, I have had to book my car in elsewhere to get the work done they were unable to and also to check they actually did what they claimed.

My car was booked in for a service and MOT today. Karl and his team were polite & efficient, although things took a little longer than I was hoping (Not their fault). I was kept informed of the progress and glad when they were able to pull it out of the bag for me.
Wouldn't hesitate to get further work done or recommend them in the future.

Update: Complaint raised but never got back a response.
I went in to have both front tyres replaced—Driver side (D) and Passenger side (P). Dropped the car off at 8:30 AM and returned at 6:00 PM to collect it. At the counter, I specifically asked if both tyres had been replaced and was told yes. I collected the receipt and went to check the car, only to find only one tyre had been changed.

The driver-side tyre, which was in decent condition, had not been replaced. Perhaps they thought I wouldn’t notice? When I pointed it out, I was told to come back the next morning to fix their mistake (or mischief, rather).

The next day, while waiting, I started reading up on tyre types. I checked the replaced passenger-side tyre again and discovered it was a different, lower-quality tyre than what I had paid for.

Asked what is that and was told now we will replace both, took an hour and was just handed over the key. No apologies, no explanation.
I wonder what they would do to things that a normal person cannot check? What about the money saved in by this trick?

Karl was amazing - he went above & beyond in order to make our experience with him & his team a good one.
Our car required work whilst we were in town for a few day & he did everything in his power to make it happen before our departure.

I’m also a MOT tester at different garage and we didn’t have not any slot available that’s why i booked my MOT with Halfords Horsham, before giving my car for MOT I checked my tyres with Digital measuring tool and my o/s/f tyre was lowest one which was 4mm tread left, but i think Halfords have under qualified MOT tester (Karl) because he put in advisory that i have 2mm to 3mm tread left on my o/s/f tyre which is wrong, after this I contacted Karl via Halfords contact number and asked if i bring my car to you and show you that it doesn’t have 3mm tread then will you change the details from advisory?, and he is very very rude person and he said very rudely that no I can’t change it even if it’s 4mm,
Can I request to Halfords please answer me what’s this behaviour and why you hiring under qualified MOT tester who’s putting false things on customers MOT record?.

I took a trip to The Range today and on return to my car I noticed I had a completely flat tyre. After no luck with inflating the tyre myself and no spare in the car I walked round to Halfords Autocentre to see if they could help at all. With a panicking 8 year old in tow thinking we were going to be stranded Halfords came to our rescue!

They very quickly squeezed me into their already busy schedule getting the car on the ramp. The guy fitting the tyre checked over all the other tyres too which I was then told it was bad news and both rear tyres needed changing, luckily they had two tyres on the shelf! Both tyres were fitted at a competitive price which I was very thankful for!

Thank you Halfords Autocentre for coming to my rescue today!!

Always reliable and honest. George and the team are polite, professional and work is always delivered to a high standard. I use the auto centre for my MOTs and services and they are great. Had my cam belt replaced and it was fitted in no time at all. Trustworthy team

Had my the MOT carried out for free at this Autocentre because it was included when I joined up to Halforfords Premum Motoring Club - never again!
They failed the car because I'd forgotten to change the personalised number plates before I took the car into the garage, but they were in the boot and would have been seen by the mechanic when he checked the spare tyre. When I was told it had failed because of this, I replied that this has never been a problem with my normal garage. To which they replied - "perhaps they were just being nice"! So I can only assume their mechanic wasn't! I was then told if I went next door to the Halfords Store to buy some double sided tape and stick the other plates over the top it would be passed!
Finally, after doing this I was handed the new MOT with an advisory note on it stating 'Rear nail in tyre' - so I asked the guy on reception "which one"? But he couldn't give me an answer because the mechanic concerned had now clocked off and gone home!! Not impressed at all.
