If you don’t want to be in big stress all process RUN AWAY RIGHT NOW!

This company doesn’t treat their clients well. They just don’t care.

We finally bought house, after almost 6 months. Whole time they barely updated us on anything, didn’t reply to our messages.

Communication with clients is very very poor. Every time someone else replied to our messages. They asked for payslips and bank statements 2-3 times. They don’t have an idea what is going on in their job.

I’m really disappointed with our cooperation.

I don't think there is a better term to describe our experience with GloverPriest Solicitors, other than NIGHTMARE.

We chose the GloverPriest team in Kings Heath for the sale of our property and the purchase of a new one, as part of a chain. Within the span of 7 months, our main solicitor has been changed 4 times. Each time, the new person took several weeks to get familiar with the case and the documentation, which was very disruptive for the process and caused a lot of delay. Then, they left the business and dumped the case on another solicitor, so that the thing would be back at square one.
Their customer service is non-existent: they lost files, they didn't reply to emails and didn't pick up the phone, or return our calls. They would only pick up the phone after leaving it ringing for ages.
On some occasions, some of their statements made us doubt their effective understanding of how the process of a 'chain' in a property transaction works, and a lack of knowledge of its complexity caused by all the moving parts connected to it.
The entire process caused us an enormous amount of effort, stress and wasted time. We missed our completion dates three times, of which one was because the designated solicitor 'could not find' the email from our lender confirming the timely release of funds, despite us checking multiple times with the bank that the email was sent to the right address.
The cherry on the cake was that, when we gathered information from our vendors that the planned completion date would not be achievable, due to issues in other parts of the chain, we informed them and they CHARGED US A FEE OF £180 (£90 per transaction) for having changed the completion date at the last moment!! So much for us trying to make their job easier.

We are two educated, digital-savvy professionals, and we have struggled to get this painful process over the line, with immense stress, waste of time and energy. I cannot fathom how a less educated, or elderly person, could have dealt with this.

If we could have done it ourselves, we would have. If we could give 0 stars, we would.

If I could give 0 stars then I would choose to. Whilst the work was being completed and the house sale was being progressed, the communication was awful.
I never spoke to the solicitor assigned to us directly until the completion day when she rang to tell us that the house was legally ours. Every other dealing on the phone was either an unsuccessful call to someone on reception or a conversation with the legal assistant. Emails were not answered until they had been chased multiple times, often via phone.
I work in financial services myself and if I were giving the level of service that Glover Priest were, we would have an awful lot of complaints and unhappy clients on our hands.
Glover Priest were recommended by a friend but they provided such terrible service. I would strongly advise against anyone that was thinking of using them.

I can vouch with the other reviews here. I accidently went through to a different department once on the phone and had a much better conversation in the 30 seconds I spoke to them than the entire 6 month process of buying my house. They may be more competent for other practices, but I would highly advise you to say clear of these for moving. The constant lies, of being told I would be contacted from the assistants of the supposed solicitor were tiring, having only spoken to my assigned solicitor the day before completion. This was our first house purchase through the family, so no chain, so you would feel it would be competently handled. 3 days before completion we were ASKED if we had signed the contracts (that THEY had, that THEY had not sent us). I think that was the final nail in the coffin for us. I would highly suggest you seek any other solicitor for house sales.

Oh but on the bright side, they took so long, our LISA matured!
