Having recently tried to engage Garretts Solicitors I have to say I am extremely disappointed. Firstly they did not return my call following my initial enquiry and when I chased this there was no acknowledgment or apology from the Partner leaving me feeling completely dismissed.

This would make me feel very concerned about placing my matters into their hand. Very poor business practices.

Avoid at all costs. Their model of taking money upfront says it all. You talk to their cashiers first ugh! Scam company who gave terrible advice when my family were extremely vulnerable and cost us precious time not to mention the bill we paid for absolutely nothing delivered by very cold aloof people. The thing they told us couldn't happened did happen within the same week. Wish we had complained to the legal ombudsman about them unfortunately we were embroiled in a very messy legal case and it's now too late. As of this year the timeline for such complaints is within 12 months.

Just bought an house through Garretts solicitors, I can not praise Lisa Scott enough. The communication has been amazing throughout the whole process. The company on a whole are fantastic, we have had negative experiences with different solicitors but this company has made me realise they aren't all the same!
The whole process even through restrictions has been smooth and safe.

My wife and I recently completed our first wills with Garratts and both the meetings we had were conducted in a very friendly and professional manner. All options were given and everything was thouroughly explained. Fantastic value for money also, as I had been quoted significantly higher costs. Preparing a will is not one of those things that anyone looks forward to but "chore" element of the task was greatly reduced (to a pleasure even!) Garratts helped a member of my family with a clinical negligence claim. It has been a long, difficult process but all the way through Garratts have been professional, caring and sensitive. Absolutely shocking excuse for a legal firm. My father’s will was not enacted as written and even though garratt’s were a named executor of this Will we were told by Jill Latimer that it wasn’t up to them to make sure the will was carried out properly and if we wanted to ‘make them’ we’d have to seek our own legal council.

We had the Will assessed independently by two other firms and were told by both solicitors that this Will was poorly and strangely written. Despite trying to contact Garratt’s to get to the bottom of why the Will hasn’t been enacted, they’ve been ignoring any attempts at communication for the last several months.

Reading other troubling reviews it’s clear that nefarious dealings are quite normal with this firm, so I would urge anyone to stay far away from them.
