The costs were layed out to us from the beginning and adhered to, I can't fault the service of the Wolverhampton office and have to say we also dealt with Sara from the Redditch office on two probates again complex but dealt with a timely manner and followed up relentlesly on a few outstanding monies owed.

Recently used this company for the purchase of some agricultural land and a small fishing pool and was very pleased with the service. Megan dealt with our case and everything was explained in detail and any questions I asked were answered fully and promptly. The whole process went through fairly quickly, even though it was during the middle of Covid. We received a very detailed and in depth folder full of information on the purchase. Costs were explained beforehand and were pretty much bang on target when the final bill arrived. The whole experience went much better than the purchase of our house, whereby we used another company. I would highly recommend using this company and Megan in particular if needing to purchase agricultural land or similar. I would definitely use them again in the future.

We have just sold 2 houses using FBC Mamby Bowdler. We used them as they’ve been our solicitors for 33 years and family’s solicitors for 48 years so we assumed this would make the sales easier as they already know us.
The first house was my late mothers home , as the solicitors of her estate they knew it was the executor (her son in law) who was dealing with this. Not only did they rarely communicate with him or the buyers solicitors but refused to speak to the estate agents at all. What should have been a simple house sale with first time buyers so no chain proved to be very distressing for all involved. The buyers feared loosing the property as their mortgage offer was coming to an end , our executor was having to email daily to chase information and eventually communicated via the estate directly with their solicitors to ensure all information was passed on. Having been ‘dealing’ with the sale for 6 months two days before the sale they informed that the money couldn’t be transferred into the account given at the start of the procedure as it was in a joint name and the only way to over come this was to pay it by cheque so we could pay it into our joint account. This idea didnt seem to make sense and should surely have been picked up 6 months earlier but we agreed. The sale went through Friday lunchtime and we were informed the cheque had been successfully paid into Mamby Bowdlers bank account so we could issue the keys. We assumed we would then receive the cheque the following morning but when it hadn’t arrived by Tuesday the executor contacted the office. The following day a cheque arrived dated for the Tuesday meaning by the time it cleared our account they would had gained 5+ days interest on our sale . One wonders how much money they make doing this !
At the same time that this sale was going ahead we were also selling our family home using them. We had an equally difficult time with this slightly more complicated sale. A severe lack of communication again with us and the buyers solicitors and a refusal to communicate with the estate agents. It became increasingly embarrassing as paperwork wasn’t forwarded to us and then answered questions sat for weeks without being sent to the buyers solicitors. This sale involved a chain and the fear of loss of sales was great , our buyer was gaining frustration until the estate agent explained it wasn’t the seller but their solicitors. Again we started communicating directly with the buyer and their solicitors to ensure questions were answered and problems ironed out before mortgage offers ended and the chain collapsed.

I am certain that without the work done by us neither sale would have completed . We would definitely never use them again and would actively dissuade others from using them. Our estate agents said they dread a sale handled by FBC Mamby Bowdler and the buyer of our property said “ your estate agents were a joke , I’ve never come across such poor solicitors”.

It’s a shame they used to be very good but are now inefficient, unhelpful and rather underhand.

So good I've used them twice. I have instructed Manby Bowdler in two personal injury claims and have found them to be fantastic to deal with in both separate cases. Communication was always up to date with ongoing litigation and they were always accessible - if I had any queries I could always just send an email or pick up the phone and any questions were always answered promptly and clearly - I always felt 'in the loop'.
I guess it is also worth mentioning that Manby Bowdler also secured me desirable outcomes that were beyond my expectations. It's a shame it's unlikely I will have need to use them again as I would look forward to engaging with them. Honestly, by far the best professional service organisation I have ever dealt with. Highly recommend.

AWFUL service with the company. My family have had the misfortune of having to use this company for a late families inheritance. Almost 3 years later they still have no outcome. Every time they attempt contact they can’t get into contact with the person dealing with their case and for some reason are unable to deal with it as a company. Do not recommend using them and avoid them at all costs if you don’t want things to take years to get done!
