Excellent Party Wall advice which has protected out 140 year old outhouses.

We share semi-detached outhouses with our neighbour. He wanted to demolish his half to open up his garden. We said we would be happy as long our half of the outhouses was not weakened and the dividing wall was made weatherproof.

Over several months various schemes were outlined. The schemes were fairly simple. There were no technical design drawings to demonstrate how our outhouses would be protected.

Andy responded promptly, pointing out to us and to the neighbour that with no detailed information to protect our property we should not agree to proceed.

Eventually the neighbour decided not to demolish but to make changes on the far side of the outhouses. These do not affect our outhouses. As Andy pointed out, were far enough away not to require a Party Wall agreement.

With absolutely no experience of Party Wall Awards I was quite anxious about finding a Chartered Surveyor. My first impression of the company was from the website which was clear and straightforward and the fact that Fabric is a member of the Faculty of Part Wall Surveyors and the Pyramus and Thisbe Society was reassuring.
