It's been over a year since I did the 8 week mindfulness course with Alan and I can honestly say that I am feeling the benefit still. I am calmer, I am more present on a daily basis- something that I thought would be impossible for me, having ADHD - and I learned to develop some powerful visualisations that I use to remind myself daily to 'check in' with how I am feeling and where my thoughts are at. Through Alan's expertise and his gentle and supportive presence, I was able to find a way to develop a sustainable practice which suited my brain wiring and my ability to focus.

Alan was a great guide, through the group meditations and sessions we were unknowingly well primed for the extended sit spot. His ideas were thought provoking but in an open, calm way rather than an overly instructive way, which I think helped us develop our own practice and deepen our personal experience.

Alan is a wonderful mindfulness guide. He shows empathy, passion and true knowledge and wisdom within his field.
I was made to feel comfortable and engaged in the course, and truly supported. The guided meditations certainly worked, whether you just need to slow down and learn to relax and observe or whether you are struggling with self compassion or negative thoughts, we could all use a bit of mindfulness in our lives I'm sure.

Thanks for leading our mindfulness in nature programme last week.

We have had positive feedback from some of the participants, who have echoed their thanks for a calm and peaceful experience. One participant, said "at the mindfulness nature morning, what an amazing session it was. I’m so glad I was able to join.”

The experience was very useful focusing on three elements of mindfulness practice, the introduction with some back history was useful and the first activity about scanning the body and experiencing nature through the leaves of the trees and the skies was great. Second, the walk in silence, was an important ritual that allows each one to find their pace in steps and mindful of their surroundings, finally when you asked the participants to take a time out with nature, raised the importance of discipline for self care.

Overall, it was a good experience for our participants and also with the organising with our team at St Peter’s House.

Alan completed an 8-week mindfulness course at George House Trust. The course was attended by staff and volunteers. The programme was for beginners and each week we explored a different element of mindfulness and how we can use it in our daily lives. Alan was a thoughtful facilitator, taking time to explain the different concepts in easy-to-follow language and providing ample opportunity for people to feedback about their experiences and any difficulties they had during their practice. The length of the course allowed participants to get to know each other and to feel comfortable sharing personal information. We were given a helpful course outline at the start and recordings of the different practices so we could continue our learning at home. I personally found the course very useful, it helped me to consider my own thoughts and how I can calm them when needed – I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend the course to others.

Went on a weekend Meeting your nature course with Alan as our guide for the three days. Wonderful guide help me connect more with myself and the wider world in a way that was unexpected and amazing. Knowledgeable gentle guide to mindfulness and nature connection. I will be back for more.
