Very pleased with my experience at the Derbyshire Law Centre. Patrick (who dealt with my situation) was absolutely fantastic. He explained everything clearly to me and worked very efficiently to get things done with tight deadlines. I definitely recommend him to others looking for a helpful, friendly and quick service.

If I could give Patrick Macken more than five stars, I would - earlier in the year they provided excellent advice over an employment issue and contract. I chose to go with Derbyshire Law Centre as the fee from the former employer was a fixed rate and friends had already had good experiences with the Derbyshire Law Centre's charitable advice and support, so I really wanted that rate to go to a charity rather than just any law firm.

Since I needed to get the advice, but ultimately felt like there were few options, many firms might simply have ticked the boxes and collected the fee. Patrick went above and beyond with the clarity and quality of advice given, the enthusiasm to see the process through, and strong negotiation that got a better result than I had initially felt possible.

It's taken me too long to write a review due to life's chaos – but if chaos strikes you, I can highly recommend Derbyshire Law Centre as your first port of call, and if it's an employment issue and you find yourself talking to Patrick Macken, rest assured you're in highly competent, professional, and empathic hands so to speak.

I've seen expensive commercial solicitors and legal firms that can't even come halfway to the attention to detail and clarity offered through DLC, but can bill many times the rates asked here.

Obviously given the nature of the service I must leave specifics out of it but I must thank Patrick for all he has done for me. When we first started I felt so weak and alone to my problems. He went above and beyond to ensure my comfortably and progress and has left me in firm position to carry on my case having already exceeded the initial help offered. Thank you once more and best of luck in your personal progression and know I am extremely grateful for all the help received
