I too join the ranks of those who received appalling service from this company. Tactic seems to be to delay and stall for as much and as long as possible. They have kept me on hook for the last six months and did nothing but reiterate emails asking for info already provided.
So cancelled everything today. The money I paid out for the last three years without any claims would have covered this mess. Just awful

Avoid at all costs - they made my Legal Cover feel worthless.

If you are unfortunate enough (as I was) to have a insurance provider that outsources their Legal Cover product to DAS (in my case, the provider was MoreThan), I pity you.

The experience dealing with DAS claims department was excruciatingly painful. They were incredibly slow to respond to an urgent, straightforward claim. It felt impossible to communicate with them regarding my claim (emails would take weeks to receive a response, if you were lucky enough to receive one at all), so much so I abandoned any hope of utilising their services and engaged alternative services at my own expense (a far better experience than attempting to work with this organisation). The fact that it the services were provided by DAS effectively made my legal cover unfit for purpose and unusable.

The legal advice line was OK, but it's all very generic advice from trainee solicitors and they won't commit to putting anything it writing at all, not even summarising your conversation.

Awful experience. Because of how slow they are, they've put my case in jeopardy. They said that we weren't covered for certain services when we were. It takes them 3 weeks to reply to an email then they go on holiday for 2 weeks and don't arrange cover. They never answer the phone either or respond to emails unless you harass them or complain about them.

Our Policy is with NIG das legal expenses form part of policy, 23 May contacted them to make a claim, it took three weeks to process the claim, was told yes you’re covered then put in touch with das law, same info supplied again, eventually section 8 served with a view to court papers following heard no more since we are now three months in das law and das leg expenses whom are separate apparently encourage the complaint process refer you to ombudsman and fsa etc, leg exp upheld the complaint no comp btw 5k debt so far and no progress, have now been dropped by das law to start over i dont think so have requested a copy of the section 8 to avoid starting over doubt it be sent avoid avoid avoid das law dont answer their phones’ phone messages nor emails three months no progress and nothing lodged with the court email the ceo of these companies folks and your insurers

If I could give 0 star I would, it takes 3 weeks for them to get back to you. They ask the same questions over and over again. It's like they can't be bothered to help you. Absolutely usless! We have been so stressed trying to get through to them and we literally are given every fine detail to them and they come back so cocky saying no need to do the calculations we can do that! But it would probably take them another month if we left them to figure the math out! Stay away from them I wish we went with someone else! What a pathetic company!

Avoid DAS Legal Expenses Insurance (DAS LEI) at all costs - 1 star is ridiculously nice.
An awful company with an execrable and arbitrary claims processes.

I took out my home insurance policy, as it claimed to cover a multitude of things, such as medical negligence, employment, personal injury, etc. through DAS LEI. After reading all the small print for the necessary parts, I deemed this cover would be suitable and appropriate.

The reality however, as per the many reviews, is that unless it is an open/close easy to win case, they genuinely have no care or interest and will dismiss claims without giving them fair and due consideration.

Having finally just obtained a diagnosis and confirmation of my actual medical issues, I contacted DAS LEI to make a claim for medical negligence and personal injury, due to failure over 19+ years by medical professionals to provide an accurate diagnosis and timely treatment, which has resulted in mobility issues and degenerative neck and spinal issues.

However, DAS LEI informed me they would not cover my claim because the negligence hadn’t caused any “obvious physical injury”, before continuing, “For example, if they operated on the wrong arm or leg, that’s obvious negligence and we would be happy to pursue your claim.”

Therefore, because my injuries are not physically visible, they instantly and whimsically dismissed and rejected my claim without thought, hesitation or consideration.

I appreciate businesses need to be profitable, but being an insurer is a risk, so I feel it’s fair to say DAS LEI mitigate the risk to themselves by advising they are unable to support genuine claims, even though they genuinely meet the terms of their Ts & Cs. This is completely unacceptable and I strongly advise the Law Society to strike them off!

Perhaps their £4.3m losses in 2021 and £7.3m losses in 2022, despite £6.1m underwriting profit, are contributing factors for their decisions not to support many claims? This information is publicly available. Just saying!

If your home or car legal cover has DAS LEI as its provider, I strongly advise you change insurer.

NIGHTMARE of a company to deal with, Google should have zero star ratings for companies like this. Claims been going on for a year and half to then be told today I have a new case handler so back to square one.

We had one of our lorry’s into a local garage for some engine work that never done the work basically resulted in the engine blowing up. I rang NFU who we are insured with to see if we have any insurance in place for a claim. They put us onto DAS LAW and our case handler Michelle Clark who is by far the worst person I’ve ever dealt with in my 20 years in business.

My claim has been closed 3 times due to “lack of response” I mean who would make a claim and not respond? I have spent so much time “hours” trying to see where the claims at to be told the case is closed but we can reopen “sorry” not good enough. I have gone over the resources and evidence I have to make the claim time and time again to then be emailed asking for the same information. Like it’s falling on deaf ears.

We have been told not to get the lorry fixed for evidence in the case. So a year and half we have had a lorry off the road just writing that makes my blood boil can you imagine owning a house removal company and having your largest lorry off the road for that amount of time.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY TELL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY YOU WANT ANOTHER LEGAL LAW FIRM.
