We had a rough time with the sellers as the council had to find a house for the current tenants to move into. Once they had found a house and moved out, we were about 2 weeks away from our mortgage offer expiring. Ahilan managed to turn it all around and get us to complete with 4 days to spare.

We also live closer to the Wickford branch and they were more than happy to forward any paperwork onto the Hornchurch branch, saving us a few pennies in the process.

Avoid Cunningtons at all costs! If I could leave one star I would!

We paid Cunningtons in 2020 to purchase the freehold on our new build home, contact was slim and non existent after we paid, we chased every 6 months or so for updates and we were told the delays were due to backlogs with Land Registry.

At the start of 2024 we chased again, this was clearly not actioned by anyone in Cunningtons as when we received the Land Registry paperwork in March 2024 it mentioned the date of the application was January 2024!

Now we are trying to remortgage and it turns out that Cunningtons forgot to request Land Registry to merge the lease title therefore it’s showing as having a freehold and leasehold.

As Cunningtons do no respond to emails I had to find this out via LR directly after an hour on hold. Now LR cannot complete the merge of titles as they are waiting for responses to questions from Cunningtons, but they do not communicate I have little faith this will happen in time. This delay means our remortgage cannot complete and we will soon be moving into an 8.5% variable rate, after numerous emails and calls Cunningtons could not care less - we are met with PA “is busy” or “on another line”, or just radio silence from our multiple emails.

This has been stressful enough trying to remortgage and I dread to think of how this would have impacted us if we were trying to sell.

The incompetence and complete lack of communication or customer care with is shocking, how they are still functioning I don’t know.

Cunningtons how has this taken 4 years and it’s still not complete? And please can someone… anyone email us back?
