Extremely unprofessional!!! They keep losing documents and information sent to them WEEKS AGO! Same emails every week asking for the same document over and over again. We started this buying process in March! Promised an exchange date at the end of May… it’s now August and no end in sight…

DO NOT USE THESE CONVEYANCERS! Incompetence is a better word to describe them!
Paying all that money for a service they clearly can’t even do their jobs properly!
Seriously considering just pulling out the purchase because of them! Disgusting service, you’re better off using a smaller company, at least then you won’t get passed to someone completely different every single time you call up!!!

I was referred to them by my estate agent and was initially optimistic about the process of purchasing a new home. However, my experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.

The most significant issue has been the complete lack of communication. Despite being four months into the process, there has been no progress towards exchanging contracts. I have tried to reach out multiple times through phone calls, messages, and emails, but have received no response. This lack of communication has been incredibly stressful and has caused significant delays in my plans.

Due to the incompetence of Raw Clark Solicitors, I have now lost the house I was hoping to move into. This is a devastating setback, especially considering the emotional and financial investment I had already made. I strongly advise anyone considering using Countrywide Conveyancing to reconsider and seek the services of a local firm instead.

My experience has been a stark reminder of the importance of thorough research and due diligence when choosing legal representation. I hope that my review will help others avoid similar frustrations and disappointments in the future.

I am an existing customer of CCS.
My proposed date for the exchange of contracts was 26/10/2021. However, the sellers have delayed this.

Today is 09/11/2021, and the sellers have now asked me to complete the transaction on 19/11/2021.
When I asked CCS, I was told that there are still outstanding documents awaited from the sellers’ solicitors.

This raises a serious concern: how can the sellers’ solicitors request completion if they haven’t even provided all the necessary documents to my solicitors?

Moreover, I don’t understand why CCS is not actively chasing the sellers’ solicitors for the missing documents.
To make matters worse, I haven’t even received the results of the property searches at this stage.

At this rate, I’m not sure whether it will be possible to meet the proposed completion date.

Overall, this has been a poor service and a horrible experience.

Do not use this company if you want a pleasant and smooth transaction.

The most professional company I have ever come across. Buying house process made easy. I am so thankful to Baljit, doesn’t waste a minute of your precious time. I will definitely recommend this company. I am very thankful for the amazing and very professional service you provided. Baljit kept me informed throughout the process. The other party made things very difficult but with Baljit’s help we came through in the end. I wish you every success in life. 100 % recommended. Big Thank you to Paige for completing the purchase while Baljit was brilliant

I had the misfortune of being assigned Latham Gadd as my conveyancing solicitor - a person who, to this day, I'm not convinced actually exists as he was so elusive to actually contact.

Latham regularly took a minimum of one week to reply to emails. Even if it was to check I'd signed a document in the correct place before posting - surely a one second job to open a PDF and reply yes/no.

There were times when I did not hear from Latham at all for three weeks and even four weeks on one occasion.

I began to be seriously concerned that there was a problem with my emails, that Latham was sick, or that he'd been given the sack. I called up the office regularly throughout the six month process and only successfully got a hold of him once. On other occasions, I asked for a call back and never received one.

When I brought up these communication problems with his line manager, she replied, "Well, I can ask him to reply to you but obviously I can't make him do anything." Who can then?

I asked if there was a communication policy, e.g. a minimum number of working days in which a solicitor should reply to their client. The call centre staff said this didn't exist. I asked if they thought a week was acceptable - they said no. How about a month? Also not acceptable, yet it happened with regularity with Latham Gadd.

The reason why this review is 2 stars is because Latham went on holiday at the end of the process. We were then appointed Mary Lord who had good communication and got us over the line. I was so thankful not to have Latham at the end or we'd probably still be waiting on a reply right now.

This shows Countrywide is luck of the draw. You might get someone decent, or you might get Latham. Either way, the company needs to put in place a clear communication policy and line managers ought to take responsibility for whipping their team into shape - isn't that what their role is meant to be?

Overall, disappointing and frustrating. I can't believe that professionals can ignore clients for a month despite repeated follow-ups. In no other industry would this be acceptable.

I was hesitant using this company initially as large conveyancing companies don’t usually provide great service, however I was happy to be proved wrong on this occasion. Sam was amazing, she contacted us when necessary and was prompt with communication. The online portal was great keeping us up to date as the sale progressed. It’s always comes down to the people and Sam was professional, efficient and really lovely to work with.

Used these for the sale and purchase of my house. They were brilliant, Anna Leblanc was my solicitor and she was very patient, clear and precise with instructions and chased the sellers and buyers when they were dragging their feet. She was always on hand and actually answered the phone herself when you called which is a bonus. The case was easy to read on the dashboard when I logged into their system. It was very simple to navigate around and easy to sign documents upload and send back. Very little had to be posted and there was no actual need to go into an office it was all very simple. It was clear from how my buyers and sellers were being treated that I had chosen the better conveyancing firm. They may not be the cheapest but they are far the best in my experience. I would definitely use them again.
