We used this solicitor to buy our first house on a recommendation from a family member. Amy was absolutely amazing throughout, and made it such a stress free experience. She was friendly and kept us up to date, and was always quick to respond if we had any questions. Would definitely recommend ?

I have used Kate Proven recently for conveyancing. I have to say, I have learned through this particularly complex and difficult home purchase the importance of having a good solicitor and for good communication with that solicitor. It was very challenging at times, particularly when less capable solicitors within the chain were holding things up, but knowing that I was in such good hands combined with prompt communication and replies to my queries ensured that I knew that my needs were being taken care of in the process. I have to say that in addition to excellent quality of service it was also nice to deal with someone so personable and who I felt cared. The only piece of advice that I can give anyone is not to put cost above quality when purchasing something so important as a home, it could cost you far more in the long run. Kate Proven provided an excellent and thorough conveyancing service at a very reasonable price. Thank you so much for helping me achieve my wonderful new home, even with all the challenges that were thrown at us.

Used this firm to purchase my house. Before completion I requested exact boundary details as there was no fence up on one side of the garden.

After completion I received a phone call from this firm saying there was a boundary dispute and they were representing my neighbour. I tried to reason with them but they wouldn’t listen and I received a letter accusing me of intimidating my neighbours and that no work was to be continued on the boundary. I ceased all communication with my neighbour and a few months later had a knock on the door from my neighbour. They told me they were unaware of the content of the letter from this firm.

I believe this firm has behaved unprofessionally and caused the relationship between myself and my neighbour to deteriorate. By sending a threatening letter without the consent of their client seems to me like a way of escalating the situation to get more money out of an elderly couple. I also wonder what I paid them for when I purchased my house, if they’re now saying what they told me I purchased doesn’t actually belong to me.

My recommendation is to stay well away from this firm.

I've used this firm several times for conveyancing and have found them to be exceptional. Unlike some of the previous solicitors I've been unfortunate enough to have had to deal with, Cooper Sons Hartley and Williams are prompt, courteous, efficient and communicative. Kate Proven in particular is excellent.

Have used them now almost a dozen times. All kinds of properties from 400 hundred year old farm houses to commercial properties. The service and attention to detail is always second to none. Kate Proven at the firm is outstanding!

Didn't register the warranty on our new build, also tried to charge £8000 stamp duty, when it should have been £800
