Professional, helpful and efficient. I would use this firm again without hesitation as we have been very happy with the service. Completed a sale in 7 weeks ( probably would have been 6 weeks if the buyers solicitors would not have dragged their feet with the enquiries ). The worst firm of solicitors that has ever been encountered. Slow, poor at communication and bad service. Absolute horror story, for anyone that wants to be treated as human, priority or wants things doing properly, please avoid.

Firstly, was promised an induction pack from them within 24 hours, had to chase this after 72 hours as hadn’t been communicated.

Secondly, then didn’t receive any further communication and had to chase this up.

The other party’s solicitor had instructed at the same time as us, using the same company (will come onto this later). Their solicitor managed to get ID checks complete, contract sent across and had tried to contact the firm Clowes on multiple occasions with no reply. Clowes after 2 weeks haven’t responded to the other sides solicitor, who had to keep resending the paperwork to try and get some form of response. Still nothing….

Clowes and Co LLP will use a firm that represents themselves as Clowes and Co LLP New Enquiries Team, this is NOT the same company and is a company that they instruct to act for them. When you pay an initial fee to them, this goes to the separate sales team that they use who are allowed to use the Clowes and Co LLP. Clowes will not answer questions to do with any refund of these fees and claim that it is separate, despite this not being clear from the start. They allow another company to act in their name but take no accountability for the money taken from you.

When had simply asked for assureities from the company Clowes and Co, who are not able take on cases with any sort of deadline or that involve any sort of getting the job done efficiently or correctly.

Despite spelling my name wrong, they refuse that to acknowledge that they allow a different company to act using their name, act using their company LLP and the company that instructed us in the first place and text us using the name Clowes and Co LLP. We are now trying to chase our money, with no help from them.

Please for anyone wanting a decent service from a solicitor, do not use this company. They are poor at communicating, and should be reported to the SRA for their poor practice, poor administration and for not putting the client’s interest first.

She was very efficient, kept us up to date and was readily available whenever we called or sent emails. For us, it was pleasure to deal with Emma, we heard mixed stories when dealing with solicitors in general that it was the trickiest, often slowest part of the process. I wouldn’t use these solicitors again. The communication and lack of updates from these solicitors was terrible throughout the whole process. The estate agent was doing more chasing and being more productive. The solicitor got financial details wrong on the property multiple times and even on the completion document after explicitly stating the figures they were still wrong. I found communication with Sarah quite patronising and unhelpful. We were also working under a deadline because the tenancy was up on a flat we were renting before purchasing our house and the solicitors knew this but still lacked motivation to help get the sale over the line. I felt fobbed off through the whole process and it’s not what I expect when I’m paying such a premium for a service. Totally disappointed

Scammers, run from this place. Lack of communication, misleading, not giving the documents you ask for.
They charge you for their services, even though, they do not delivery it.
I paid £800.00 and did not receive any documents. Searches were sent from another solicitor and they still charged me for them.
The only document I wanted was the proof and reason for me to give up on my purchase and they did not send it at all.
So, if you care about your money, do not hire this solicitors, they are scammers.
