All these people moaning about CAB services I honestly think you need to realise that
A) 90% are Volunteers giving up their time for free.
B) The amount of course and e-learning you have to undertake to volunteer is extremely lengthy and indepth and that's before even being placed in a duty to learn the rest. I'm sure if you can do better you should apply yourself.

The member of staff that dealt with my mum's enquiry regarding a letter she received out of the blue from the Work & Pensions department was accusatory, stating this was about public funds. The inference being you should not have help, you have done wrong and should face the consequences. This being borne out by the 'advice' that it was up to my mum whether she should have a solicitor.
This is totally unacceptable. A member of the public should expect to receive confidential, non-judgemental, impartial advice and support from the Bureau not further anguish, distress and humiliation. In light of the recent Post Office scandal, I would have thought there would be more awareness and sensitivity when a member of the public receives a letter from a department of the state making accusations. Sadly, a very similar message was received from the individual she spoke to at the Pontypridd office. Unfortunately, it appears lessons have not been learned. For this member of staff, training is obviously needed on how to deal with the public sensitively, but I would say that such lack of empathy wouldn't be a good place to start. In fact, I wish I had not suggested she contact the 'friendly' local Citizens Advice Bureau now, but I had researched this online and an article recommended they be the first port of call. Sadly, only prejudice and derogatory comments were provided in the first (and now only) interactions with 2 separate offices my mum has had with the CAB in 70 years.

Janet the lady we saw was absolutely first class ,she was very thourogh ,polite and helpful she also made sure in her assesment by having a secondary oppinion from another member before divulging her assesment to us,so yea very well done.
